“What a find!”

I was recommended Sol y Sombra by the receptionist at Monte Triana Hotel. The food was excellent and the surroundings interesting and characterful.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2012

This is the place to come and eat - it is quite small and in the bar area they are lots of hams curing. Picture of bull-fighters and other posters are on the wall. The dishes were all around €6-9 each and at first this seemed very expensive compared to other places (often 1 tapas is 1 item and costs around €1.5-2.0 each). We ordered 2 items – peppers stuffed with tuna and also hake with gulas and prawns – don’t know what gulas were but probably noodles – supposedly a substitute for baby eels ?. Each dish was quite large – there were 4 peppers on one plate and 2 large pieces of fish. After that we ordered a lamb tapas which was marinated in cumin and was delicious. Three tapas and 2 glasses of wine each cost €31.6. Again a copa or glass of wine was just €1.60. An excellent meal and fascinating insight into a local tapas bar

“best tapas Bar in Seville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2012 via mobile

I have been eating and drinking best tapas and beers in this lovely Bar,every time I have the opportunity. Waiters have been working there for more than 25 years, decoration remains the same last 75 years. There are a huge variety of differents tapas, most of them very traditional and absolutely delicious.

“Excellent Tapas and great atmosphere!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2012

This is an amazing place with wonderful old posters, mostly for bull fighing, covering all the walls. The menu is extensive, and we ordered several dishes to share so as to get a good feel for the cusine and the quality. We were not disappointed on any count!

All the dishes we had were excellent, and the house wine was also of a very reasonable quality. When we had eaten all we could and received our bill we were pleasantly surprised at the low cost of the meal.

We arrived at 8.30 on a Sunday evening and had a choice of tables, but by 9.00 the place was packed, mostly with locals, and soon after there was a queue forming outside.

Excellent experience!

“Very good tapas restuarant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2011

Pleasant and relaxed tapas restaurant round the corner from the Monte Triana hotel, who recommended it to us. Food was very good and wines were excellent. We went during the week and it wasn't overcrowded but the atmosphere was pleasant and friendly. A nice place to go with friends if you want to eat and chat in a relaxed atmosphere.
