Description: A few meters from La Giralda, visitors enjoy the food and views from our rooms and terrace. Bar Giralda is a history journey through its decor: you will travel from the vaults of the Arab baths of XII century to the twentieth century modernism. An unbeatable and enviable situation, make a definite bar to enjoy La Giralda in Seville with the best selection of traditional "tapas" in town.

We visited on an uncrowded weeknight based on a local's recommendation for tapas. They had a large selection but a lot of it was somewhat unusual, kind of like California Cuisine here in the States, and priced high compared to other tapas bars in the area. The first tapa we chose was tasty, but after being ignored by the waiter for quite a long time we decided to move on and found better food, prices, and atmospheres in other locations in the area.

We stumbled into this place after an exhilarating visit to the Alcazar as it had started to rain. The food and service was excellent value for money that we decided to go back there for dinner. Only later did we check reviews and notice that this place had well deserved good reviews

I love this tapas place in Seville. There is a huge variety of tapas and all are very good. You should try Salmorejo, Flamenquin, solomillo al Whisky, cazon adobado (my favourite). It is always very full but It worth.

This place has a really interesting selection of tapas that they continually change. The duck maragret with mushrooms and potatoes, and the pork in whisky sauce were my favourites - we went there for lunch for the 3 days we were in Sevilla. I live in Barcelona were the tapas are fried, bland and boring with little variety - these were great. 3 tapas for lunch was enough and cost about 10 euros for 3, and right next to the Cathedral in a old Arab bathes - highly recommend.

Several guide books recommended seeking out this tapas bar right across from the catedral/giralda of Sevilla. We waited over 45 minutes to secure a terraza table on a Friday evening. This place was a frenzy of activity with many groups vying for a table. When we were seated and given a menu, we were overwhelmed with choice. The options are extensive and reasonably priced. We tried ten different types of tapas from tortilla española in salsa de comino to bacalao en salsa de ajo. Many of the tapas, especially the fried versions were too salty to eat but this is something I have encountered all over Spain. The food was not sublime in any way but the scene made it all worthwhile. We asked the server for some recommendations but weren't very impressed with those either. I will say that the camembert dish as well as the shrimp in garlic sauce were delish but two out of ten doesn't make the place the "must stop" that many guidebooks claim. Also, it is now called "Cervecería Giralda" and I wonder if it is under new management since the publication of the rave reviews. I would recommend a visit but don't expect anything extraordinary. Servers were efficient and relatively helpful on a very busy evening. The gazpacho was nice but wasn't dressed with the typical adornments of cucumber, tomato, peppers, and croutons and the sangría decent but nothing out of this world.
