La Rabida Monastery
Ranked #3 of 59 things to do in Huelva
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed July 10, 2011

This is the site where Christopher Columbus set sail for the Americas. At the site, they have a visitor center and three replicas of the tall wooden ships that Columbus used in his journey. Well worth a stop if driving from Seville to the Algarve. Follow the signs to La Rabida. There is a Monestary nearby, but didn't go to it. Closed on Mondays.
