Cannot add much to them. Great location and staff, VG rates and rooms. We had a glitch re the booking made by a third party but the hotel never blinked, giving us the room we wanted at the rate we chose.

This is a nice traditional style hotel, well located on a main street of shops & cafes in the centre of Granada. Its about a 10 minute walk from the cathedral which is the main departure point for buses serving the city centre. The hotel is clean (rooms are cleaned daily), comfortable & has most of the facilities you would expect - lift, aircon, in-room safes etc. The rooms also have balconies, albeit tiny juliet style (ours had two). Bathrooms are nice with wc, bidet, hairdryer etc & although no bath, a very good walk-in shower. Staff are very friendly, helpful & english speaking (a plus for us!). As well as a smile & a friendly greeting whenever we passed through reception, they booked us tickets to the Alhambra, a taxi on the (very early) morning we checked out & gave general advice on any touristy type questions we came up with. Two things this hotel doesn't offer are an included breakfast or a minibar in the room, however there is a very good adjacent bar/restaurant (owned by the hotel). Although we didn't eat breakfast there during our stay, we stopped off at the end of every night & had a glass of wine or two. Prior research highlighted rioja in Granada as being particularly good & reasonably priced (confirmed!) & if you order a drink at some Granada establishments (this one included) you also get free tapas. We mostly stopped off after a meal in a restaurant so we had to restrain the staff from bringing us plates of tapas as we were already full. However on our last night we decided we'd have a go at the tapas rather than a meal. We ordered a bottle of rioja & got six really good included tapas. After finishing that we decided we'd have another 2 glasses of rioja & were offered more tapas which we had to decline as by this time we were full. Total cost? - 23 euros! You can do the sums yourself but I defy anyone to come up with any better value than that for good quality food & drink. In summary, Granada has a friendly feel, lots to see & is a great place to hang out, eat & drink. I can highly recommend this hotel - it has a great balance between price & quality.

Room Tip: There is a fair amount of noise at the front of the hotel as this is a busy street so if you are sen...

This is a fairly traditional hotel with big spacious rooms. Location is in the center of Granada close to the cathedral, a short walk to the Alhambra.
Our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 2pm which was slightly surprising, but no big issue.
The booking was meant to include breakfast, but didn't really, as there is a cafe next door and we had to pay for what we bought. That said, we ate a small but delicious breakfast there and it was very cheap (I'm very surprised to see another reviewer state that it was overpriced).
Rooms very comfortable. I have seen complaints about noise from the streets but we were able t keep our windows shut as it wasn't too hot outside in March, so it wasn't a problem.

We stayed 2 nights in February 2013. Beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious room with safe, blackout curtains, and comfortable bed. Great location as well -- nice walk to La Alhambra or several buses run along Acera del Darro, and there are many shops and restaurants including El Corte Inglés and Mercadona just down the street.

As a note for guests who may be sensitive to noise, we could occasionally hear other guests in the stairwell.

Otherwise, we had a truly wonderful stay and lacked nothing! Highly recommended.

Pros:
1) Good location.
2) The rooms are clean and functional.
3) Staff are helpful.

Cons:
1) Breakfast is in the cafe next door, there is a very limited selection and it is over priced.
2) Check-in took a very long time as housekeeping had not prepared our room.

Stayed here in January 2012 for 3 nights. Really friendly staff at the hotel and a great location. Had lunch here once which was really nice. The city is quite compact and we aere able to walk to the main attractions including The Alhambra, Albayzin etc...Also a tip, we walked to Sacromonte near Albayzin which I would recommend to see some real flamenco. Not the "spectacular" for tourists but just a small grotto type bar with musicians and dancers. Will probably stay at this hotel next time we visit.

My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights at the Las Almenas. Our choice for Las Almenas was based on the high scores on Tripadvisor but we really don’t understand why it is rated so high (are all the other hotels in Granada worse?)
When we booked the hotel we asked for a quiet located room not near the elevator but at the check in we were given a room next to the elevator. As there were not many other guest (we haven’t seen one during our stay) we cant’ tell if the walls are thin but that doesn’t’ matter as the sound of the traffic overrules all other noise. I think there are no quiet located rooms in this hotel. The room was basic, small and clean and the bathroom was modern. There was an armchair in the room that almost didn’t fit in the room, it was huge and ugly and blocked the aisle.
A positive thing is that the hotel is located near all shop and across the street there is a large El Corte Ingles with a supermarket so you can buy something to drink, as there is no minibar in the room.
You can have a breakfast at the bar next to the hotel or in one of the other bars nearby but almost all of these bars do not open earlier then 9:30AM.
Overall we wouldn’t stay here again.
