“Great service, clean rooms, good location”

Jose, the owner and concierge, could not have been more helpful. He purchased the tickets for us to visit La Alhambrs, saving us waiting in a long line early in the morning, as well as to the flamenco show. He steered us clear of the tourist rip offs as well. His hotel was clean and orderly, well located near everything. It is connected to a cafeteria which was convenient for breakfast and for snacks. Jose and the rest of the staff always greeted us with a smile and asked about how our touring went. We paid 55 euros a night,, which was a real bargain. We will definitely recommend this hotel to friends, and will stay nowhere else when in Granada.

The hotel was smart and well furnished and was excellent value for money. The hotel has secure parking at 13 euros a day which is cheaper than the other car parks at 18 euros a day.

Rooms were well presented and comfortable, with a state of the art air conditioning system and a well designed bathroom, which was of a high standard and clean.

There was a cafe adjoined to the hotel where you could have your breakfast, which was reasonably priced and not expensive like normal hotels, it was the same price as going to a cafe. The coffee was good, and the toast was very large proportions, being the size of a large baguette.

Location – a couple of doors from a Cortes Ingles which is one of their large department stores, and a couple of bars, and cafe’s along the same street. Most of the tapas bars were about a 5/10 min walk away, through the central shopping area.

The Alhambra is a good 20 mins away, but is one of the closer hotels to the attraction, apart from the 5 star hotel which is in the grounds of the Alhambra.

Would recommend as a good base to explore Granada, as a good safe location, with easy access to car parking.

The hotel room was super-clean, and in excellent condition, it looked brand new.
The shower had luxurious massage functions.
Air-con was LG Art Cool.
We received very friendly service at the reception.

Minor weaknesses:
The area is a little noisy but with windows closes it's not that bad
Parking is not easy in the area, you can plan about 15 EUR more per day for parking.
Queen Size bed was quite narrow for a couple, good for honeymoon ;)

Pros: very helpful owner works at reception during daylight hours, great value, very clean, spacious room, good air-con, rooms are quiet, airport bus stops across the road

Cons: the hotel is not in the old part of the city - it is a 8 - 10 minute walk to the heart of the old part of the city from the hotel. The hotel is across the road from a department store with supermarket which was helpful.

We found this hotel through Tripadvisor. It was an excellent choice. Sparkling clean, up to date, beautiful hotel. After staying in bad hotels in Seville, it was such a wonderful surprise for us. The older gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. He gave us priceless hints about the city. I very highly recommend Hotel Las Almenas. You not going to be sorry for the choice.

I was disappointed that the Parador and Alhambra Palace both were booked. I should not have been. This hotel was less than half the price of the others, clean, very quiet, very comfortable and, as it turned out, in a far better location. After a full day at the Alhambra (and the night before, as well), when evening rolled around it was wonderful to have the energy of Granada - and all of its tapas bars - within easy walking distance. My room had a large terrace - perfect for putting very sore feet up and sipping a drink while the sun set. I was told breakfast was included when I checked in. When I checked out I was told I owed an extra 3 euros for 2 breakfasts. Not a big deal and most certainly worth the 3 euros!
