“Very comfortable and relaxing stay in peaceful surroundings.”

We were a family group of 8 with ages ranging from 11 to 57 years old. Almond Hill House provided the ideal accommodation for us all and Matt and Sarah had put a great deal of thought into making our stay as comfortable as possible. Homemade bread and their own delicious olive oil and home grown vegetables were in the kitchen on our arrival. They were also nearby if help was needed and we enjoyed getting to know them over a drink one evening.
We had a fantastic time making full use of the pool, the table tennis table and barbecue and we all slept well due to the good quality beds and very quiet air conditioning in the bedrooms ( it was exceptionally hot during our time there ).
The location of the house made it possible to easily visit the beach, a water park and the Alhambra which we did and thoroughly enjoyed.
Almond Hill House is definitely somewhere we would consider returning to in the future.

“A great family house”

Our family group spanned three generations, the youngest being 6 months old. The house worked really well, especially the outside space. The pool was a good size and wonderfully clean (and secure). There was plenty of space to eat and relax out of doors. Inside was clean and cool. the owners live nearby and were very helpful.

“Most beautiful view of the Sierra Nevada”
Reviewed August 9, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

After a long journey from Madrid, within 10 mins of arriving at Almond Hill House our two boys were splashing in the gorgeous pool and we were relaxing, having a glass of chilled wine and listening to the sound of the cicadas. The view from our bedroom has to be one of the best views in Andalusia, looking out on the amazing Sierra Nevada. The location is so tranquil that by the next morning we were already feeling totally relaxed. The inside of the house is beautifully decorated with a large farmhouse kitchen, ideal for preparing meals together. There is a lovely terrace for eating al fresco with a well maintained garden and grounds. The swimming pool is securely gated which is reassuring for the kids. Despite feeling truly in the countryside, the local town Orgiva is only 5 mins drive away and beautiful Lanjaron is only 15 to 20 mins away. We had the most wonderful holiday; Almond Hill House is not only good for the body but also good for the soul. We will be back.....

“A gem surrounded by the views and hills of Sierra Nevada”

What a gem. A beautiful authentic Spanish villa in the heart of Sierra. As you wind the roads from Granada Airport [highly recommended so easy] the views are stunning and you automatically start to relax. on arrival we were met by Sara & Matt the owners, who introduced us to our home for 2 weeks and that's how it felt; homemade bread and olive oil welcomed us and each room had a welcome toiletry gift.
The villa was tastefully decorated and furnished with spacious bedrooms, plenty of outside sitting places and a fantastic pool.
The pool was a great size and the children had a ball and prizing them out was the biggest challenge.
A fantastic villa in a great location with plenty to do and see in the area - and missing it so much.

“Andalusia & Almond hill house”

We have just had a second visit to this beautiful part of Spain and stayed for a week at Almond hill house, a revisit- which was bliss.

So much thought and attention has clearly gone into making the house so comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.

Matt and Sarah are very welcoming, on hand to assist with any need you may have, but remain subtly in the background for you to enjoy your stay.

“"Charming farmhouse with modern amenities"”

We were a group of three couples who stayed at the Almond Hill House for a week in June. The owners Matt and Sarah are lovely people who welcomed us on arrival with homemade bread, cookies and a bottle of olive oil. Sarah had even picked fresh flowers for us. The house has a modern and fully equipped kitchen and each double bedroom had air conditioning and a very nice bathroom. The property is truly lovely with many little seating areas that provide privacy if you need to some quiet time. We made lemonade from fresh lemons picked from the lemon tree. There were many almond and olive trees as well.

The private pool looks out to a gorgeous view of the mountains. We enjoyed the great outdoor living area and appreciated the large table for eating dinner in the garden. Matt and Sarah gave us tips about interesting places to explore in the area and we were able to fill the week with time for visiting and time to relax around pool. There is a path in the back of the pool that leads into the town of Orgiva. Matt and Sarah have a book with tips on what local villages and beaches to visit. We would recommend a trip to the beach and also the village of Pampaneira.

I would highly recommend a stay at the "Almond Hill House" an we would like to thank Matt and Sarah for taking such good care of us. I would love to return.

“Wonderful house near Orgiva”

Almond Hill house is a beautiful, comfortable and relaxing place to stay near the charming town of Orgiva. Situated at the end of a lane, it is secluded and peaceful with only the local goatherd and occasional farmer passing by. The house is well laid out with bags of comfortable outdoor space and a great pool. There are numerous spaces to relax, eat, socialise, in the sun or shade. There is a 20-25 minute walk into Orgiva along a goat track. The town has a great market, plenty of good places to eat and more bakeries than you can shake a stick at. It has a very relaxed, slightly alternative feel.
Matt and Sarah are wonderful hosts - helpful but unobtrusive, knowledgeable about the area and quick to respond to email questions and requests.
We recommend this place very strongly if you want a comfortable, relaxing and peaceful holiday and to discover this amazing part of Spain.
