during our visit to Granada( this most beautiful city, which its visit to gather with Alhamra palace is a must) we stayed in this hotel upon the recomendation of tourist company.from the out side it impress you with its modern beautiful look.the Lobby is a master peice of interior design.reception was quick,.the room spacious, beautifully furnished ,and equiped...its french windows over look stunning view of" siera nevada" mountains covered by snow.the bed very c
lean, fresh, comfortable.bathroom spacious equiped with modern electric pede which i found very practical and comfortable.the hotel is 5 years old?.when you open T.V not a single english speaking channel.although this is a tourist hotel.we had dinner a buffet dinner at the hotel restaurant which i donot recommend, the buffet was poor in quality there was ham steak which we donot eat as muslims so we didnot try. i had fish fillet which was tasteless.my wife doesnot like fish .the meat dishes was not inviting at all ,so ,she tried chicken B.B.Q which was little bit more appealing only to put it aside as soon as she tried it.... to eat only bread and some vegetables.fruits was mainly from tins not fresh ??.service was not bad but it wasnot excellant either.breakfast was a disaster.out side the restaurant queue over 50 guests .at last when we arrived to the buffet all types of cooked eggs if there is any?are empty not replaced.cheese, i am not sure if it is 1 or2 types.bread....there is a show of wide variaity of bread but there is a sign (Donot TOUCH) because these are for show not for eating....only 2 white bread types are available ,,I prefere to eat black bread,.fruits only from tins not fresh fruits,..why is that???worse still there is few waitresses not sufficient at all for seating, cleaning tables, serving the tables, replacing the empty shelves with new fresh amounts ..the hotel is not in the city centre but it cost 6or 7euro when you take a taxi.my wife had a session in the SPA she told it was fantastic I recommend this hotel ONLY.if you donot eat in the hotel and you donot mind being away from city centre.....

Room Tip: rooms that view the siera nevada mountains

When first entering this hotel, I was blown away by the size and decor of the lobby. However, once I was past the facade, the rooms and details leave a lot to be desired. I asked to be moved rooms as mine was literally falling apart. However, when I spoke to other guests they said their rooms had been the same. All of the furniture is made out of cheap materials that are chipped, scratched and look like they haven't been dusted since the 1970s. There is inconsistency in what is in each room.
Room 319's window did not have a safety catch and so could open fully (swinging back on itself). This may not seem a big deal - but the windows are huge - 3ft x 3ft, so potentially dangerous.
Floor was filthy and hadn't been hoovered or mopped, a significant layer of dust and dirt over everything.
There were dangerous cracks in the floor and tiles and the door runner had come away from the bathroom sliding door and so concrete and wood chip was exposed - I trod on a safety pin that was sticking up.

Room on 5th floor:
The bathrobe ties didn't match the bathrobe and were hard and scratchy and hadn't ben ironed.
There was only one shower in this room and it was the hand-held shower. It had a holder that you should be able to adjust so you don't have to hold the shower, but this was broken and 'spun', causing water to go everywhere.

The hotel claims it is an international business and travel hotel, but there was not one English Speaking TV Channel.
The rooms were also absolutely boiling and this is because their is a general 'setting' for the whole hotel and it was still set to 'winter', meaning that the rooms were boiling when it was boiling sunshine weather outside!

Scrambled eggs were off at breakfast and I told the waiter to smell them and he just shook his head and walked off. Breakfast was poor quality too - fruit out of a tin, bacon (fried ham?). Dinner in the evening (buffet) was strange and not much variety in terms of foods that actually went well together.

Service and Spa were fantastic though. Staff waste on a hotel that seems to have put all of its money into an empty spa. Cafe in lobby served a decent club sandwich.

The Abades at Granada has a very modern, new and comfortable feel to it. It would be great for tour groups going to Granada to stay in this hotel. It is a little far away from the main city center but if you are part of a tour then it shouldn't be a problem the tour have have your. . Food is good and the hotel even has a spa.

We stayed at this hotel last year and we decided to come again without doubt.
It's modern with excellent communication by car. It has nice rooms with excellent views of the "Sierra Nevada" mountains.
Welcoming hotel reception will do your stay confortable. By the way, you can go to the spa and relax after coming back from skiing.

I have stayed in this hotel over 10 times great to use this as a base to ski in Sierra Nevada.. A genuine four star hotel only 25 mins drive from the ski resort. The hotel offers a high standard for less than the price of a two star in the resort. Lots of normal priced restaurants within walking distance. The hotel can offer ski passes saving queues in Sierra Nevada.

Room Tip: You can request a seperate bath or a shower room.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. The hotel is away from the city center and situated next to a motorway. The exterior of the hotel makes quite an entrance with a grand fountain – looks beautiful. The room is decorated in a burnt orange colour and tastefully decorated. The beds were comfy and huge but the bathroom was extremely small. My husband and I are both small in structure and it felt really claustrophobic when both of us were in the bathroom together.

What really bothered me was the arrangement of the buffet. Dishes were not arranged in a logical and easy to find manner – the coffee cups and coffee machine was standing behind a pillar that you almost missed it. Some dishes on the buffet were placed in a convenient position where you could see them while others were behind pillars making it difficult to see. We had dinner at the hotel and I had completed my dinner and only then realised that there were more dishes behind the pillar. Not sure why this is done this way. Arranging all the dishes together just makes it easier for guests to see.

This was the second time we stayed in this hotel through a fantastic special offer. Upon arrival we parked the car straight in the hotel's own underground parking of which they have lowered the price to EUR 10 / day.

The staff at reception were again very friendly and accomodating. The central lobby of the hotel feels very spacious and modern, albeit a bit cold in winter. The carpeted hallways, however, feel warm and help to keep the hotel very quiet at night.

All the rooms we have stayed in in this hotel have always been clean and spacious. The electric blinds are a nice touch. If you stay on the side of the Sierra Nevada, great to be able to open the blinds without having to get up and see the snow in the mountains (in winter, of course) from your bed.

The Spa is an excellent place to relax, especially after a day in the city centre our up in the mountains, with the Sierra Nevada less than 30km away. The hotel can help you with your equipment rental if you are planning on going skiing. In fact, the hotel is a great retreat from the busy ski-resort.

The city centre is indeed a 20-30 minute walk away, but during a short stay that has never been a problem for us. In fact, the walk is one straight line will take you past various bars where a quick drink will always be accompanied by a (free) tapa.

In summary, if you want to enjoy the best of the Sierra Nevada and also see the city of Granada, this hotel may well be the right place for you. Shop around for a great deal.
