“Good hotel, great location”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

The NH Victoria in Granada is a recently renovated hotel in the centre of Granada, a twenty minute walk to the Alhambra and Albacin district and on the edge of the old town. We drove to the Victoria which was tricky as several roads near by had traffic restrictions or were closed and there is a large one way system. Without the excellent instructions that the hotel sent, a sat nav and my wife looking it would have taken a long time to find the car park, which is located at the rear of the hotel in a small, quiet side street and is underground but surprisingly large. We booked a space before we arrived and it cost twenty Euros a night but it is secure. From the car park you have to take a secure lift up to the reception area. The reception staff were excellent and helped us with several enquiries. The hotel will also book Alhambra tours if you want one. The lobby area is pleasant with a bar and lots of comfortable seating and a large TV if you want to spend time there, which often shows sport if you want to keep up with the latest fixtures.
The room was large and modern with a huge bathroom, complete with lots of shelf space, bath, shower, full sized heated mirror and towel rail. The bedroom had large wardrobes with a safe, a full sized mirror and desk. There was a comfortable armchair, air conditioning, good lighting and a good TV with multiple language channels, but the wifi connection was weak and I constantly had to keep logging in. There was a '24 hour plug' which was an excellent idea, allowing you to charge electronic gadgets even if you were ou t of the room and had removed your key card which killed all the other sockets while you were out .Our room overlooked the busy street outside but noise was not an issue due to good windows and the air conditioning was excellent. The standard of housekeeping was superb and the bed comfortable although I would have liked better pillows.
The hotel is ideally placed, close to the old town with its sights, bars, restaurants and shops. The post office is across the street and a department store a five minute walk away. For the price we paid we found the NH Victoria in Granada an ideal base to explore the city from.

Room Tip: Book your parking space in advance.

Located right in the heart of Granada - we parked in the basement garage for a reasonable price. 3 of us in a room for around 80 euros - very spacious, clean, modern, huge bed, soundproof. What more do you want?!

Fantastic location in the centre of the town. We had a room overlooking the Puerta Real, which gave a great buzz. However, the Spanish party late and even though it was well insulated, noise travels!

The Reception staff were totally disinterested when asked if it was possible to have coffee sachets (online booking confirmed in room tea and coffee making facilities). Apparently, tea was available that week, and coffee was on the following week! I didn't dare ask for milk!
Similarly, I had to pay for a mini bar item with a €50 note, having given all my change as tips. This appeared to be a major crime, and I completed checkout without the receptionist acknowledging my departure.
Sadly, this left a bad impression

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the Puerta Real will mean you get the noise of the street and nightlife

This is a very nice hotel ideally situated in a central location. Just around the corner you can get a 30 or a 32 bus right to the Alhambra for 1 euro20.The bedrooms are very clean and well maintained and an adequate size.We spent very little time in the room in which we had a view of the mountains from a small balcony.Lots of very nice shops and cafes close by.I must say I was greatly taken by everyone we came across in the services sector,I found them charming friendly and very appreciative.
The hotel staff also were so helpful and friendly ,it makes such a difference.I hope to go back sometime.

We stayed in this hotel for a few nights in September 2012, and had a lovely time. The location is perfect - walking distance to loads of shops and main squares. We had a day trip to the Alhambra and the pick-up point for the coach was also just over the road, few minutes' walk.

Hotel breakfast was quite expensive so we decided to opt out and instead had churros for breakfast a couple of minutes walk away from the hotel. Highly recommend you do this, as they're so yummy and cheap!

Room itself was small-ish, but clean and had everything needed. Sound insulation was great despite it overlooking the street. The reception staff were really helpful and chatty, and gave me a great opportunity to practise my Spanish! Free wifi at the hotel was also a plus.

Our trip to Granada was amazing, and we hope to go back again. Will definitely stay at this hotel again, as location is absolutely perfect.

We enjoyed our two nights here. Location was fab, right in the middle of the shopping area and walking distance to tapas streets, plazas and even the Alhambra, if your a bit fit. Staff and breakfast were just ok. The room was small but fine, a little dark.
