“Lovely hotel”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

Lovely quiet hotel, in heart of ancient quarter, close to all sights bars and restaurants. Decor was excellent and such a calming hotel to return to after walking the streets of Granada. Hotel can be a little difficult to find, best to park up in a 24h car park further out and walk in. Was told you couldn't buy Alhambra tickets by receptionist but went to Alhambra shop in the street nearby and bought next day tickets with ease.

We were a little nervous to stay in such a small hotel, but the hotel was recommended by our travel agency, so we went with it. All in all, we LOVED this hotel. The hotel staff was very nice and attentive. In fact, I think our travel agent told them it was our honeymoon, because the hotel surprised us with some cava! The location is practically perfect. There is a lot of nice tapas restaurants nearby, and we were easily able to walk down the street from the Alhambra. The rooms are a little small, but it is very romantic. Highly recommend this hotel!!

Our two nights in Granada were great - lovely city with great shopping and of course the magnificent Alhambra! Our base at Palacio De Los Navas was perfect for exploring the city and a short stroll to the bus stop (#25) for the short rise to the Alhambra. The hotel itself is quite chic although our room on the top floor was pokey and only had a very small window. What made up for this was the breakfast (great range of Spanish delights) and location in a lane filled with restaraunts and bars. There is also a supermarket less than 5 mins away.

An absence of website pictures of the outside of a hotel is usually a worrying diagnostic sign. Sure enough, the Palacio occupies a scruffy corner of central Granada across from a breeze-blocked patch of derelict land. The inside, though, lives up to its publicity: it's compact, tranquil, galleried and makes the most of its sixteenth century origins. Mostly, the feel is reserved, twenty-first century Spanish chic, mediated by friendly staff who didn't penalise us for having booked the wrong weekend in a rush late at night back in the UK.

Breakfast were one level better than the average hotel version which usually forces out to track down fresh coffee and un-defrosted rolls or croissants. However, it should lose a few percentage points for the non-twenty-first century shower, its base punctuated by patches of sloppy black mould. But its position on the cusp between the humming heart of tourist Granada and the shadowy still streets where its residents eat and live means we would probably go back there, once the shower is fixed.

The staff were exceptional and the location - right on the end of a pedestrian strip of good tapas restaurants.
The hotel has clean and laid out in a charming way - very traditional .
We would use this hotel again on further visits to Granada.
City centre is 400 metres away - as is Alhumbra bus stop

Room Tip: Maybe higher up would get less noise from tapas restaurants but it is not intrusive

After reading about this hotel and seeing great reviews on Trip-advisor we weren't disappointed.
For a 3 * hotel it is excellent value for money, the room was lovely, but the bed was a little lumpy, otherwise 10/10. The hotel is situated on the corner of tapas row, so spoilt for choice of places to eat and great value.
Staff were brilliant, very helpful regarding where to go and how to get there. This really helped when you only have 2 days in. City.
We stayed on 2nd floor, so not too much noise at night, but if you stay in the centre of a city, you have to expect a little late night revelry.

Room Tip: We had room 20, which was fine

A wonderful find for our two-night stay in Granada. Perfect location on Calle Navas, one of the main tapas areas in Granada. Our cozy room featured two single beds and a large bathroom with walk-in shower (great pressure, too). Close to shopping and the main plazas around town.

Hotel Palacio de Los Navas shined for breakfast. Excellent variety - fresh meats, cheeses, fruit, juices, and pastries. A treat was the cheese soaked in honey. Delicious! After a scrumptious breakfast, you can't help but feel energized for your day-trip to Alhambra. Simply the best breakfast during our two-week journey through Spain.

A tip for a tasty lunch or dinner: try the scrambled eggs with grilled shrimp, jamon, and mushrooms at La Chicota, a tapas bar on Calle Navas just a few paces from the hotel. Great locals' vibe on the weekend.

Enjoy!
