“very nice setting, good home made food”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

We had lasagne and quiche and the quiche was so delicious we had another piece to share. The atmosphere was fanatiastic, very peaceful, maria took the time to explain all options to us, she was very kind.

Food lovely (nothing haute cuisine, just basic very tasty well prepared meals).

“Soggy Reheated Pizza Does Not Rate #1”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

We had lunch at Viva Maria! during our recent visit to Granada. We chose this place because it was near our hotel, and ranked by Trip Advisor as the #1 restaurant in Granada. Based on our experience, it was not even the best restaurant in the Plaza Trinidad neighborhood. We would not return there.

The place is small, with one table and seats at two different counters. Although Maria is charming, her charm does not make up for the food. We had two slices of pizza and two glasses of wine. But it was clear that the pizza had been made earlier in the day. This meant that Maria reheated our two slices in a toaster oven, and then served it to us. The loss of freshness clearly showed. Our pizza was soggy, and not nearly as tasty or fresh as the reviews here might lead a diner to expect.

I am not surprised that a small restaurant resorts to reheating pizza. I am surprised that this small restaurant rates #1 in Granada. For us, La Bodega de Antonio, just a few blocks from Viva Maria! deserves that honor.

“Wonderful Lunch In Granada”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

Had a chance to eat at this lovely, quaint cafe. Food was authentic, fresh, and definitely hit the spot after a long day of sight-seeing. Got the lasagna and a potato salad- they both were great.

“Very tasty!”

Homemade Italian food in central Granada, perfect for a quick meal. All the pasta is excellent, particularly the lasagna. Maria cooks like the Italian mother I never had...

“Wonderful, Homemade, Authentic!”
Reviewed April 26, 2013 via mobile

We had a great lunch here today, and everything was homemade by the proprietress. This is a small place with one table and some counter space inside. We arrived around 12:15 and it was just opening. The meat lasagne had a perfectly seasoned bechamel sauce. Even the lasagne noodles are hand made. The tiramisu and chocolate torte desserts were also great. It's quick, inexpensive, and top quality. Lunch with dessert for 3 was around 30 Euros.
