Great historic hotel

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 13, 2019via mobile
We had a fantastic stay here during our trip to Spain. It is an adorable little old house that has been turned into a hotel. The location is perfect, just a few blocks from plaza nueva and the staff was incredibly friendly. Our room was small, but that was to be expected for a historic hotel like this one. Breakfast was fantastic, with a large selection of food. If I go back to Granada, I would definitely stay here again!

The room left a lot to be desired.
The bathroom walls were dirty (brownish streaks) and the shower had a brick wall in it, which flaked off tiny pieces of brick every time we showered. There was not much space to move between the toilet and bidet to get to the shower. There was a tiny stool next to the bidet to hold a few items, but it was barely big enough to set our toothpaste and other basic toiletries.
The bedroom had stairs to get to it. The stairs were broken and creaky (I am a 30-year old, fit, 125-lb female, but needed to be very careful when climbing up and down the stairs). Bed was less than comfortable. Be sure to notify the hotel if you cannot do stairs!! There was no elevator to our room (there was an elevator to other rooms, however).

Pros:
-Friendly staff
-Location
-Free tea and coffee in the afternoon
-Great air conditioning

Cons:
-Broken stairs in room
-Did not feel clean (especially bathroom)
-Poor use of space
-NO SAFE in the room

Room tip: Ask for a room with elevator access

Dear guest,

First of all, we would like to thank you for taking your time reviewing our Hotel after your recent stay.

I´m really sorry to know that the room didn´t meet your expectations. We chose the room you stayed in because of the private terrace with fantastic views to the Alhambra, this kind of room are the most reserved by our Guests.

Referring to the cleaning service , all the rooms are perfectly cleaned by our house maid service and seriously inspected by the housekeeper governess. Some of our bathrooms are decorated with stucco paint on the walls and brick according XVI century. You should have informed reception desk about all defects that you supposedly detected and they could have offered you a different room. Please be assured, we do value all feedback from our guests and your comment has been reviewed with our team and corrective actions are taken to improve the quality of our service.

I hope you will give us another opportunity to better serve you in a near future. I promise you that you ´ll have a bigger room in your next stay with us for you and for your partner. Being a XVI Century building, the original construction is conserved and the size of the rooms-bathrooms are also different. Sorry for the inconveniences.

We would like to thank you once again for your time and for your review.

Best regards

Let me start by saying this hotel is in a great location. Very close to the Alhambra and a myriad of bars and restaurants. Exceptionally dated rooms with ridiculously tiny bathrooms! Very uncomfortable mattress and pillows. The staff was helpful. The price was great but by no means is this a luxurious hotel

Dear Guest,

Thanks for your comment referring Casa Capitel Nazarí. Our location in the heart of the ALBAYCIN, is one of the most privileged surroundings, no need of car, walking distance to main attractions of the city.

Being a XVI Century building, the original construction is conserved and the size of the rooms are also different. You should have informed reception desk about this and I´m sure that they would offer you another option. I inform you that you can find a dossier in our rooms with a lot of information about hotel services like pillows list, room service...

This is a really atmospheric hotel run by attentive (if in some cases too talkative and slow!) staff. The rooms are clean if a little shabby, but it all adds up to something charming and extremely well located. There is complimentary coffee and pastries in the afternoons, which is a nice touch. A good value.

The hotel is located in an old palace near the Puerta Nueva, which is the heart of the city. The single room (#25) is on Floor 2 and is set off by itself, so there is plenty of light over a small courtyard with a fountain. The room comes with a well stocked mini fridge and wonderful bath soap. The staff was very helpful and the afternoon tea was a wonderful refreshing break. I really liked this hotel, would definitely stay here again.

An excellent hotel with a great location at the foot of the Alhambra hill. Walking distance to more or less everything in Granada.
The hotel is very charming in an old building with a courtyard to relax in. The room had all the comforts one could ask for.
Very nice, friendly and helpful staff at the hotel.
Parking for car was at a public parking garage about 15 min walk from the hotel and was very convenient as car is normally not needed in Granada.
