We were two couples and a single in our 70's, staying two nights in this hotel in mid May, 2013. Having read reviews before our trip, we requested rooms in the older section of the hotel and were not disappointed. The rooms were on the top floor and the exposed beam ceilings were beautiful. The exterior wall was lined with high windows which allowed a view of the old interior courtyard. The bathrooms were updated, modern, clean and spacious. We hunted all over the room for the safe but after a call to the front desk, learned the room did not have one. No alarm clocks either. Safes, however, are available adjacent to the lobby reception desk. Also, there is no wi-fi in the rooms but wi-fi is available in the lobby. At night, the rooms are poorly lit. We found it disappointing for a five star hotel not to have in-room wi-fi or safes. Also, the advertized "free" mini bar is free only if you take the single bottle of water......the rest is charged as usual.
We chose to include breakfast and were not disappointed. The restaurant is elegantly appointed to match nicely with the surrounding old convent architecture. Breakfast was nicely presented and varied and, as usual, offered the option of having eggs or omelets prepared for you direct from the kitchen.
The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel location is on a busy street but our rooms in the rear were not at all noisy. It is close to the cathedral but requires transportation to the Alhambra.
We loved the hotel but felt a little put off by the lack of minor ammenities one expects in a hotel of this caliber and price range.

Room Tip: The advice of others is well-taken. Request a room in the old section of the hotel facing the courtyard.

This is a lovely hotel on the Gran Via within easy walking distance of the cathedral and the bus stop for the ride up to the Alhambra (Bus30). The property is a converted convent with beautiful courtyard, very comfortable , quiet and well-appointed rooms and an excellent restaurant.

Great location near the cathedral and the city center. Valet parking. The hotel is in a busy street where the buses are coming and going, but in our room on the fourth floor, we do not notice. It is a tasteful and cozy room. Shower in the bath, poor ventilation. To my surprise, however, some basic things are missing in this five star hotel: there is no writing or something that looks like: so working from the bank on the coffee table. There is no safe. There are no tissues. The air conditioning does not work, gives heat. The safety lock on the door was broken. In the booklet of the AC hotels is "free minibar", but in the mini bar hangs a card with prices. WiFi 12 euro per 24 hours.
The ancient part of the hotel is a picture and beautifully restored.
In the hotel is restaurant El Claustro. The cook has been given a high culinary prize in 2009. Fine cuisine with fresh local products still based on the original Spanish cuisine. Cozy location and helpful service under the expert guidance of Marco. We eat there all three nights. Super. All in all a very nice and pleasant hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room

My husband and I stayed here during our one-day visit to Granada. We wish we could have stayed longer, but we didn't have the time in our busy itinerary. The superior room we stayed in was in the old convent. Although it had no external window, the room was charming and spacious. The staff were extremely helpful. The hotel was a short ride from the train station, a short walk to the center of town (near restaurants and various sights), and a taxi ride of about 10 minutes to the Alhambra.

Room Tip: 120 in the old convent was a wonderful room, but no external window -- faced courtyard, from which it was set back.

Great location on the Grand Via de Colon just up the street from the Cathedral. Everything was within walking distance although we did take the #30 bus up to the Alhambra and the #31 bus up to the St. Nicholas view point.

The hotel is small with only about 75 rooms – the building was originally an old convent and still had a brick-arched inner courtyard. Our 'standard' room was modern with a large bathroom and great tub. Didn’t seem like they had the air conditioning turned on…but since it was really cool weather we could open the window to get some air in the room – but it was REALLY noisy from the traffic below on Via Colon. We did have a great view and could see the Alhambra and snow capped mountains from our room.

The internet was free in the lobby/cloister area but not in the rooms. In this day and age Internet access should be a standard amenity. Our rate of €138.60 including tax did not include their buffet breakfast which was really expensive at €20 per person. There were several places nearby to get either a pastry or more complete breakfast.
