A friend told me not to miss it and when I fist arrived there it looked as if it was quite ordinary but as soon as you enter its church you open your mouth blabbergasted. Beautiful decoration and paintings. A must in Granada

After passing through quite austere rooms with paintings which illustrate (graphically) monks being variously slaughtered, one enters the church itself. The exuberance and scale of the riotous Spanish Baroque, covering every inch of wall and ceiling, is breath-taking. Yet surprisingly tasteful, much of the theme being pink and black marble. A fantasy world of saints, martyrs and cherubs erupts across every surface. This has to be seen to be believed!

This is a must see. Its too bad you can't take pictures but this monastery is awesome!!! The mix between the moorish and christian decoration. You've not seen anything like it.

A fascinating visit that is often missed...take a bus from Gran Via, opposite the Cahedral. The paintings of the martyrdom of brothers of the Carthusian Order are unforgettable - and oddly amusing!
