“Great walk and lovely place to visit”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

The Albaycin is the old Arab Quarter. It comprises approximately the area between the hill of the Alhambra, the hill of San Cristobal, the Sacromonte and Elvira. The city descended from Saint Nicholas to the banks of the River Darro.

Walk through all its narrow streets and discover things that you cannot find in a guide book. No visit to the Albaycin can be complete without seeing the district from the Alhambra.

The Albaycin is a neighbourhood where you can experience the atmosphere of its bars and terraces, and end with a sunset over the Alhambra.

Albayzin visit is a woundeful journey through history, culture and religion. My wife and I had a guided tour in Albayzin on Segway. I believe this was second to none.

Neighborhood with winding streets that deserve to be visited with time. Should stroll the streets and watch the neighborhood.

“Bus 31 To Albayzin. . .Brilliant”
Reviewed December 25, 2013

After the morning spent lost in the magic of the Alhambra, lunch in a fantastic bistro in a gorgeous placa, a visit to the Cathedral and rambling through the myriad of hidden streets and busy thoroughfares in the centre of Granada the thought of the steep climb to San Nicholas Square for the afternoon sunset shots of the Alhambra was daunting. Luckily we found the right local bus and had the most amazing ride through the impossibly narrow streets. A cigarette paper would have had trouble fitting between the walls of the buildings and the little bus. The whitewashed buildings of this ancient Arabic village seem to shimmer in the heat of the afternoon. Up and around the tangle of tiny streets, labyrinth laneways, in and out of little squares where families and neighbours stood chatting and laughing, and handkerchief sized pavements, our driver bent his bus. The view from San Nicholas Square across to the Alhambra was stunning even from the bus window. It was a pity we didn't have more time to explore. The bus fare was cheap, 1E 20 per person one way. A great experience.
