“Shame about the Grafitti”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

This area is an old part of town with narrow streets, small houses, churches, restaurants and Flamenco venues. The area is elevated with lots of steps so would not be ideal for those with mobility issues. Due to its elevated position you get fantastic views of the city of Granada and also of the Alhambra which is lit up at night. Go up to this area in the evening as the sun is going down and you will get some fantastic shots of the sunset. The only thing which lets the area down is the amount of graffiti everywhere. It seems as though any opportunity there may be for something to be added to a blank wall, then someone has written/drawn all over it which is a shame.

“Don't miss it !”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Another world heritage site. This district protects its original narrow Moorish streets with white small buildings. From top of this hill, one can get a great view of Alhambra. In this area there are so many interesting points to visit, such as Moorish mosque, the San Nicholas church. Beside this, there are several local restaurants and some of them have flamenco dancers.
Although there are small buses to the hill, it is worth to climb to the hill through the labyrinthine old style white buildings.

“Old city with great views of Alhambra and Mountains”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

Lovely square in old town with vantage point for photos of Alhambra and mountains in backdrop. Beautiful old town, very interesting, some lovely little bars scattered through out town, one in particularly overlooking the Alhambra, which is just below the main square, great place to spend a couple of hours absorbing the views.

“Quaint streets with crooks and crannies of wonder”

Love the fact that you can find Halal food at different parts of the cobbled streets.
Dislike - A bit slippery when it rains so be careful!

The people are extra special, warm and friendly. The market place is not to be missed, and the nightlife is the best!
