“Do it if you have extra time!”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

We took the bus all the way to San Nicolas from the Cathedral for 1.20 euros. Got to see El Albayzin on the way up and then arrived at El mirador. This gives you a different view of the Alhambra from the opposite side. Definitely a nice view. When we got there there were a couple of guitar players in the plaza which made the time there even more pleasant. It is not a must see, but if you have the time you wont regret it. There are several bars and restaurants in the area if you want to eat in addition to sightseeing.

We walked up through the old town to look across to the Alhambra at nighttime...WOW!!! Amazing view. Then we went up again the next day to see it in daylight - equally spectacular. a must see

“Awesome views...”

Visit near sundown and watch the skies above the broad valley change. Then the amber floodlit Alhambra palaces seem to float on a sea of greenish-blue... a remarkable sight. If open, veer towards the gardens in front of the mosque, which offer the same view with a smaller crowd. While there you might catch the muezzin calling for prayers from the minaret.

“Big Crowd”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

Hard to believe it was near mid November we strolled up through the gypsy caves and the birthplace of Flaminco dancing. On the way up a troup of musicians was performing a happy array of upbeat Spanish music. You did not have to be Spanish to enjoy it. It was a bit of hike to the St Nicholas lookout but the sunset view of Al Hambra was nothing short of incredible. Glad I was there. Can't imagine what a busy day might be like.
