We had only little time for Granada, so we were looking for a Hotel close to the Alhambra. The Guadalupe has great offers out-of season (half price). The rooms are very spacious, quiet, clean and elegant. the breakfast was a bit disappointing at a price of 10 Euros (buffet almost gone when we tried have breakfast at 08-30h and the selection wasnt great. So I would recommend go down the road into a cafe to have a light breakfast for 1/3 of the cash. In summary excellent Hotel 5 min walk from main entrance of Alhambra. Car Park discount on Alhambra parking - still 15EUR overnight out of season - might be higher in season.

My wife and I spent a two-night stay at this hotel in March 2013. All-in-all it was excellent with clean spacious rooms, comfortable beds and good facilities. The bathroom was very pleasant but our bath did not have a plug so only showers were possible. The hotel had a decent bar, cafeteria and restaurant where the breakfast buffet was very good. We travelled with a large group who overwhelmed the restaurant in the evening resulting in dinner taking around three hours. Shortage of staff seemed to be a problem. Nearby cafes were useful at lunchtime but closed early in the evenings. The hotel location is excellent for visiting the Alhambra just a short walk away but is a bus ride away from the city centre.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the rear if you do not want to be disturbed at night by people talking loudly on t...

We took a wrong turn and drove through the centre of Granada and just followed the signs to the Alhambra so that we would be more or less at the right spot. We ended up driving right into the parking lot at the Alhambra instead of going past it. Then we saw the Hotel Guadalupe like the promised land and zoomed in and asked for a room. We not only got a room, the receptionist booked our tickets for the Alhambra for the next day so we didn't have to line up. The next day we literally walked across the road to the Alhambra where we spent the entire day and then shared a coffee with the very helpful gentleman at the front desk before we left. He also recommended a hotel for us in Barcelona and helped us book it over the phone. Great service. Great location.

We stayed at this hotel in March 2013. We asked for a quiet room and were given a lovely room at the back of the hotel, overlooking an olive grove. The room was beautiful, sparklingly clean and as mentioned by a previous reviewer, the spa bath was a bonus we didn't expect, but really enjoyed. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was excellent and the room was quiet and peaceful. The price, being off season, was an incredible bargain. The staff were very very nice and very helpful. It was very close to the Alhambra but above all the tourist hordes. One morning it snowed, as we were lucky enough to go in and take lots of photos of the Alhambra in the snow!!! The main town is about 1 km away. It is a nice walk and there is a minibus which stops nearby.

The only downside was the loud plumbing and the continental breakfast. They have a waitperson stationed as 'breakfast monitor' and he doles out one croissant, one roll, one pat of butter/marg and one sachet of jam. For Euro 6. Expensive. A very strange and faintly offensive arrangement. We gathered that they must have had problems with guests exceeding their allocation. This arrangement has been presumably put in place to stop guests helping themselves to the buffet breakfast and/or using the buffet breakfast to make packed lunches for the next week.

The coffee is machine made and a cafe con leche comes out of the machine complete with pre-sweetened powdered milk. It is undrinkable.

We had dinner there one night and it was very nice.

We would recommend this hotel. It is nice, good quality accommodation, with friendly welcoming staff. Maybe it is best to avoid the continental breakfast.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room ask for one on the top floor, overlooking the olive grove.

Very proffesional and well run hotel. Service was great throughout our stay, nothing to much bother, very helpful. Nice restaurant within the hotel for evening meal and breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Very clean and spacious rooms. Would definitely recommend this hotel anyone wanting to vist the Alhambra Palace, its within easy walking distance, just a few steps across the road. In the summer we can imagine it would be very busy and hectic, best to go around March/April.

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear are very quiet and there are no hotels or properties behind it just olive groves.

Great hotel, perfect location for visiting the Alhambra. You are literally next to the entrance. Hotel staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful. Rooms were great, We were on the 3rd floor. Beds were really comfortable. Good hot showers. Mini fridge in rooms. Great prices.
For internet you had to go down to the entrance lobby and bar area. The breakfasts and dinners were not great, we tried them on the first day and then.... Very expensive wines. So we went next door to the Pizza restaurant (Pizza Angus) which had a great range of dishes, from salads, to steaks, to pasta, to pizza, to..and they also had a good selection of good wines and lovely desserts.

Room Tip: Corner suites have more windows and are airier. We do not like hot rooms so we find the Spanish heat...

Overall a great place to stay to visiit Alhambra. Perfect location and easy access to the palace and grounds. We were in Granada for 9 nights and the only downside of our holiday was the uncomfortable mattresses on the beds, very hard with no flexibility to support the spine. The result was a nagging low back pain and a longing to get back home for a comfortable nights sleep. We did explain at reception after the first night about our discomfort and were offered other rooms on the same floor but the mattresses were all the same. We had to sleep on top of the duvet and blankets for a bit more comfort. On checking out a person on reception said mattresses were probably better in rooms on the 3rd floor and on checking they were. Surely as we were staying for over a week we could have been offered a move to the 3rd floor.

Room Tip: 4th floor rooms at the back of the hotel have nice views of Alhambra
