“Modern room in a converted monastery”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

We arrived by bus from Nerja. You hop onto bus 33 outside the bus station and get off once you see the river. The hotel is on the further side of the river. The hotel appears to be some wings of an old monastery. The rooms are modern and clean, with everything you would expect in a hotel.

It is about ten to fifteen minutes' walk to Albacin, the lively neighborhood surrounding Alhambra. You have to cross the river, cross the park to walk the tree-lined avenue to a city center, and then walk to Albacin. That explains the cheaper price :) The city is so charming that I liked the longer walk since it exposed more of the city to me.

We left by taxi to the airport. It was 25 euro and about half an hour. There is bus going to the airport but the first bus is a bit late for our flight. It takes the bus about an hour to get to the airport. So plan ahead.

We stayed here as we had a long weekend in Granada, and picked it because of it's location. You can't really fault it's location. You're never far away from shops, coffee shop and restaurants, and even The Alhambra is not that far to walk from here.
My only real gripe is, we paid for an upgraded room type, and we had a lovely view of the Sierra Nevada mountains, but, in the foreground are 3 football pitches, which are used every day by local school children. During the day, there is a constant noise from kids playing football. But, it has to be said that during the evening, when there was no football being played, it was supremely quiet. If, you're like us and spent most of the time out of the hotel and out exploring, then this will not affect you at all.

Room was perfectly clean and nice private veranda outside, although a little bland (could do with some flowers or plants or something to break up the concrete) was nice to soak up a little sun before dinner.

If you're like us and plan a long weekend, then i would recommend this place, but if you don't go out much, you might tire of the noise.

Room Tip: worth the extra to pay for an upgrade.

I stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour. All in my group were really happy with the clean, modern spacious rooms. My bathroom had a good shower and small (1/3) sized bath. It was great to experience the beautiful historic part of the hotel with the tiled walls and huge central courtyard, then sleep at night in a modern, quiet and very comfortable hotel room. They have a very good breakfast room with hot and cold options, it's one of the best breakfasts I've had in Spain. It only took us about 10-15 mins to walk to the centre of the historic part of town, with gorgeous avenues, fountains, shopping and scenery to look at on the way.

Good location and easy to find with Sat Nav. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but very hot! The air conditioning must be controlled centrally as there only appeared to be the option of off or on with no variation on temperature no matter how long it was on for. On our second night we left the shutters open a bit to get more air movement.
The hotel reserved our tickets for the Alhambra the next day - we were very lucky to get them as there were only 8 tickets left and we needed 6 - so my advice would be to book your tickets before you travel to ensure you have a reservation. The reservation also included a set time to visit the Alhambra (ours was 2pm - 8pm with a set time of 7pm for the Palacio de las Nazaries). The Alhambra was great but very tiring on the feet - make sure you wear very comfortable shoes and take a parasol as the sun is scorching!

Very comfortable room with everything you need. Good location near lots of eateries and reasonable walk to Cathedral, etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast not included in our deal but for 9 Euros there was a decent selection. Also served dinner but we didn't try it. Wifi in the room. Local parking advertised and we did park there the first night but on realising how expensive it was we managed to find street parking nearby.

Great location, walking distance to center. Parking in the front of the hotel, costs only EUR 1,45 for 5 hours during daytime. The rooms on the back have a great view on Sierra Nevada, some with a big balcony. Modern rooms and nice breakfast.

I recently stayed here with a student group. Great accommodations and friendly service! Very beautiful tile work. The maids worked hard to keep the hotel clean. Breakfast was really nice and had a big selection of items. The concierge was extremely helpful and the location was convenient to all activities. Great stay!
