We read about this place in our guidebook and decided to check it out as it sounded like a place we'd love - and we did. Small wine & olive oil shop which turns into a restaurant after 5:00. The owner has around 10 tables and can accommodate 20 people or so. When we were there in August, we had about 10 people total, and a good friend of his was there with his family who happened to be back in town. It was a 7 course meal, and we were there for the 7pm seating and stayed until 10pm. The food was divine. Pace yourself when eating, because although the courses weren't overly large, you can easily fill up on the bread and 3 different kinds of olive oils he gives you from the starting course and keeps on your table. I was too full by the end, I had to skimp on one of the main dishes. There was a wine pairing with each course and let's just say you had fun.

We stayed until 10:00 having wine, and chose to buy some of the olive oil to take home with us. The owner is such a nice man and you can tell he is passionate about what he does. What a joy to be around. This was the highlight meal of our 10 day trip in spain, and I will happily come here again when I'm back next.

Francisco was a fantastic, informative host maintaining the perfect balance between information and background on his 10 course/4 accompanied wines 3 hour meal and letting friends relax and enjoy their own company. The food was excellent, the wine was very good, and the atmosphere for a dinner with friends was authentic, rustic, very relaxing and enjoyable. Incredible value at Euro 35. Well done, Francisco! We'll be back.

We walked by La Oliva and we saw a lot of people inside that made us wonder what is special about this restaurant. Well when you enter inside you see Francisco welcomes you with a really big and genuine smile. He really made our mood. This is the most different restaurant i ever visited... it is more something like a food tour of Granada with traditional tastes. Amazing tastes and awsome service. You must visit it!!

Francisco started out by making us feel like family and proceeded to serve us a seemingly never-ending variety of local food an wine. Explaining each course along the way, his knowlege of local products is extensive. Great value, considering all the differnt food and wine we were served. If you are looking for a unique dining experience you have to try this. For us, La Oliva was one of the highlights of our trip.

I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was with Francisco at La Oliva. We stumbled upon the shop looking for a place to eat on our first night in Granada and were told it was by reservation only, so we had our hotel book us for the next night. Thank goodness we did - it was the most delicious, relaxing and fun evening of our trip! After many courses of incredible Spanish tapas and great wine and education about Spanish food and culture, Francisco joined us for more wine and great conversation. Francisco, you truly made our trip to Granada - thank you so much for your hospitality!
