“Lovely food and very friendly service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

We had a week in Spain and this was our last evening meal of the trip. We ate outside, although a bit chilly. Ambience was good and inside the decor was lovely with beautiful crockery etc. The waiters had limited English but were very friendly. We had onion soup and seafood bisque, both were excellent. We then both had the steak with port sauce which was beautiful and so tender, could have done with some green veggies though. We had a bottle of very nice wine. Desserts were a bit disappointing - the cake was nice but the mixed ice cream came in a plastic pot.

The atmosphere was lovely and it goes to show you don't need to speak the language of all the customers to be welcoming and friendly. The meal with wine cost £90 for two.

“Good - but there will be better nearby!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

Like others we went here because of the rain and because there was a queue to get in. The food was OK - lasagna was good but a little runny and the paella was nice (esp the squid). House wine is drinkable and at 3€ a glass better value than a bottle. Staff very friendly and help make the visit worthwhile.

“Such a wonderful experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

My husband and I had just finished 4 1/2 hours at the Alhambra and after taking bus 30 down the hill in the rain we were desperate for any place that was warm and dry. We looked at a few places around the Cathedral and this one was very busy, so we jumped in. What a wonderful experience. We had the meal of the day - REAL Paella (not just a substitute with a few pieces of meat) and a second course of chicken (and my husband had lasagna). It was very, very tasty. We also had chocolate cake for dessert and cafe con leche. All included for the price of 9.50 euros. There were lots of people trying to get in here. Sure, most were tourists, but some seemed to be regulars. I would strongly recommend the food here. We had two waiters. One had limited English and that was a bit of a problem. But the other waiter came over to help, once he saw that we were struggling with our lack of Spanish. We could not have had a better last lunch after 2 weeks in Spain.

“Very Nice”

We dropped in for lunch and returned the following day for dinner. Food & wine was very nice. Prices were in line. Personal service. Noticed many locals eating with their families. LeeT

“Good meal, nice surroundings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

We opted to eat inside that evening and were glad we did. Nice and quiet, with a touch of Diana Krall and other singers, but at a low volume (unlike what so many US restaurants like to do). We shared one salad (good idea, as it was huge) and both had a very tasty paella. Service was excellent.
