This is a beautiful hotel smack bang in the middle of the action. Only let down was breakfast, tough and stringy jamon on toast and they couldn't understand how to make tea, we were given a pot of hot milk with a tea bag in it - twice - even though we made it clear we wanted it with hot water. The cafe was also EXTREMELY noisy. The usual cafe noise times by 4 and then the guy who couldn't make tea was also throwing the saucers and cups down onto the counters and we couldn't hear ourselves think.

There are plenty of great cafes and pastelerias within a couple of minutes walk, which would be a much better option.

The hotel is modern and beautiful as was the room with a little juliet balcony overlooking the pretty lane way.

The service on reception was good and there is onsite parking.

Spent 4 nights here and really felt lucky to have chosen this hotel. It is superb value for money, with beds, bathroom and comfort worthy of much more expensive establishments. The location is excellent; 5 minutes' walk from most places of interest and plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Also close to Tourist office and the Alhambra shop for tickets to the Alhambra. I would highly recommend this hotel for both comfort and location. If you want simple, no frills but great value for money this is for you.

This hotel is situated right in the centre of Granada 30 yards from the Plaza Nueva making it ideal for walking to all the sights, bars and restaurants of the city centre. The rooms are very clean and modern with all neccesary facilities including a free to use safe and walk-in power shower. We found the bed comfortable although our room at the back on the first floor above two bars made it difficult to sleep before they closed near to midnght.
The hotel has a tight underground car park which is unusual in Granada although it charges 22 euros for the privilege. We did not take breakfast or any meals in the in house restaurant preferring to walk out and use the many local eateries.
At under 70 euros per night this hotel offers great value for money and answers all the needs of most travellers although the modern style lacks a little in character.

Room Tip: Best avoid the rooms at the back as they overlook two bars open until midnight.

Dear GKTraveller,
Thank you for choosing Hotel Monjas del Carmen and our apologies for the noise coming from Los Manueles and Carmela restaurants.
Closest public car park is San Agustin and it costs 25€/night, so 3€ more expensive than Hotel Monjas del Carmen.
Looking forward to seeing you again in our hotel.

Situated in a location with great access to Alhambra, the Catheral, the Arab and Gypsie quarters, restaurants and bars. Its easy to get to from the railway station by many buses (these go to the Catheral...5 minutes walk from the hotel). Or you could walk it (30 minutes). Hotel rooms are clean and tidy. The building has been recently renovated/constructed and modern inside. No electric jug is supplied. The receptionist advised that the guests computor was in the course of being fixed...I got the impression that there was never a guest computor (I was there 3 days...it does not take 3 days to fix a computor). We paid a price that made the accomodation very good value. All said and done, I would stay again.

Loved this hotel. In a fabulous location by the Cathedral and bus stop for Alhambra. Room was a good size, beds very comfortable. Room has a fridge and we had a huge bathroom with walk-in shower.
Price included breakfast which you had in the independent restaurant attached to the hotel next door. They also serve excellent tapas in the evenings here, but in Granada, you are spoilt for choice for tapas.
Only thing to be aware of is that the parking is a bit tricky as it is under-ground and space is tight. And once you get down there, you have to get back up so the easiest thing to do if you are a bit feint-hearted is to wait for the driver to come up to to hotel entrance on leaving.
Anna on reception was particularly helpful and the hotel sends you detailed instructions with your confirmation email and another email a few days before you arrive.
A lot of people have commented how they got lost, but seriously! Granada is a big bustling city and if you get lost, it is because they did not follow the instructions to the letter. We took a wrong turn right at the last instruction, so had to go up the road and turn around. That is not the hotel's fault it was ours. Just stay calm and follow the instructions and print them out in colour too, makes it easier. I thought they were brilliant.
Wifi was free and very fast so great to catch up with emails etc rather than buy 'boosters' from you provider
I would definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: We had a room at the side of the hotel which was very quiet, as there is a Carmalite Convent next door : )) Our friends had one towards the back and they were fine with that too.
