My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in late April. The weather was unusually cold so we were happy with the heating arrangements. We have stayed in Granada 5 or 6 times previously and this hotel is our best choice.

The hotel is one of the few central (for bars) that offer parking in Granada. The parking is 22 euros per night. The basic cost of staying at the hotel is reasonable, so the total overall cost is still good. Beware that the underground car park is very tight so consider this when choosing a hire car as you may struggle with anything bigger than an Astra.

The location could not be any better. There are many bars nearby that do excellent tapas and the Alambra is also walkable up a steep hill.
We used Tomtom on an iphone to navigate to the hotel and the only issue we had was at the last roundabout (the one with the Spanish flag about 5 minutes away) it sent us down a bus lane. You should take the exit before the bus lane to get to the hotel. Expect to take around 1.45 from Malaga airport. Look out for the rising bollards in the road where you have to use an intercom to gain access (about 30 seconds away). My Spanish is poor, but saying “reservation Hotel Monhas del Carmen” seemed to work.

The best tapas bars we found are only a few minutes away. Leave the hotel and walk down to the main road and cross it. Walk straight ahead (Calle Elvira) and here you will see a tapas bar with barrels outside on your right and a Chinese style tapas bar on your left. On this street there are many bars and the 2nd left side street ( Calle Almiriceros) has some great bars too.
There are also some nice bars if you turn right on the main road and walk up towards the river.

The hotel room was very nice with a modern feel. The room had a minibar, comfortable twin beds, free safe, free WIFI, LCD TV, Minibar and a powerful hairdryer. You will need to bring your own kettle though.
The bathroom was spotless with a nice shower and towels and toiletries are provided.
Room service was excellent and the room made up every day. All staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful.

There is no need to book breakfast as it can be ordered on the day. The hotel bar served different types of breakfast but the only one I tried was the Continental breakfast. This was coffee, fresh orange and a choice of toppings on toast (I had cheese) for 4.50 euros.

Overall we were extremely happy with the hotel and will probably book to stay there again the next time we visit Granada, although I may look into the possibility of parking elsewhere, particularly if staying there for any length of time.

The hotel is easy to find, although ignore the driving directions from the hotel which take you down a narrow tourist lane - the hotel is just off one of the main streets in the centre. The hotel has an underground carpark - it is not cheap (Eur 22) and is the tightest and most difficult carpark I have had to get in and out, but if you are travelling by car, it is essential in Granada.

Great location, very friendly service, large rooms, very comfortable and clean. If you book early and get the advance prices, the hotel-parking combination is reasonable.

We had a hot night because the airconditioning system hadn’t been changed over from heating to cooling (end of April) so had to sleep with no covers - otherwise a 5 score.

Chose this hotel having read the reviews and we weren't disappointed. The room was a good size, very clean, comfortable beds. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. We didn't eat here just used it as a base and it was fantastic location for getting to main tourist attractions. Highly recommend

Hotels in Granada are generally not expensive, based on our studied from Tripadvisor. So we chose this hotel because its ranked number 10 and no terrible comment. But we were unlucky. The central air-condition was adjusted in the heating mode while temperature outside was not cold. We have to leave the window open in the night.....for the air and sound!!!! It could be much better in the next few weeks once the hotel turn their air-con to cooling mode.

A great location and a great value. Clean and modern. After paying $165 a night for one star hotel in Seville, this was a very pleasant surprise. The front desk personnel spoke English, making excursions a little easier to arrange. Be sure to book the Alhambra online a day or two before you plan to go. The front desk was able to book us a conducted tour but it cost us four times as much. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel where you can get the typical tourist breakfast (coffee, fresh orange juice, bread) for under five euros.
