We enjoyed a very pleasant four night stay at the Hotel Alhambra Palace during Christmas season. The staff was friendly and helpful, food was good, and the room was kept very clean.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Alhambra. Take a guided tour if you visit at a busy time of year; you will avoid standing in long lines.
Bus # 30 will take you to the town center and the Cathedral, and you can easily return to the hotel on the same bus number.

Two nights, including new year, perfect service (ticket booking for the Alhambra) efficient, nice personel, smiling, etc.etc.etc.
Rooms and clean bathrooms.
Breakfast buffet, choice of different type of breakfast.
Really well located, 400 metres from the Alhambra, max 15 min walk to the centre of Granada
For me a perfect stay

Room Tip: Personally I have chosen 4 th floors because there's nobody above me, and I had a large balcony...

The primary reason for choosing to stay in this hotel is the location. Situated a 5 minute walk away from the Alhambra on a cliff that overlooks the entire Granada town it truly is a spectacular location. The main town centre is a short walk through the gardens. Where this hotel fails is the service and the quality of rooms. Having tried to maintain the architecture of the Alhambra in the hotel, the rooms are quite old fashioned and do not have the basic amenities like a kettle for warm water or an iron. We even saw a spider in our room. The staff arent very friendly and the breakfast buffet was quite average. At a price of a 170 Euros a night I would have expected a far more superior service, comfort and overall experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view ....if you dont get it , it is just not worth staying here.

Dear Client. Thank you very much for you comment it will help us to improve. However, we inform you that the reason why we are call the Alhambra experience isn’t it just because we are 5 minutes away from the Alhambra but because we are a luxury Hotel from 1910 located in a protected area by the UNESCO, a reason why the architecture the decoration and rooms follows the old Arabic style what it doesn’t mean that the Hotel is Old fashionable. Our hotel is history so that’s how it is conserved, as a historic building. Nevertheless, our house keeping service is all the time all over the Hotel doing a professional job to maintain it the best quality that belongs to a 4 start Hotel. Regarding to the kettle for warm water and the iron at the rooms, it was experience what have told us that in order to prevent a fire it is better not to have it. Even though, we offer our client an iron service to replace the iron at the room. Nonetheless we hope to see you soon in order to thank you personally. Best Regards

Servers were not particularly polite. We were at the hotel to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. I had indicated in my request that perhaps the staff members could arrange for something special. But we were allocated to an ordinary room closer to the lobby. It was noisy at night. The rooms for five nights were not cheap. I won't return to this hotel.

I suppose really what one would consider fit for a honeymoon would depend on the honeymooning couple in question. However, how could you argue with a marble clad, Alhambra inspired neo-Moorish palace with views overlooking Granada below?
On arrival, our first impression was not that great. Our room was pleasant enough but two single beds? Not really what we wanted. We spoke to the reception staff who agreed enthusiastically that this would not do. We were asked if we liked the floor we were on (yes, the view was amazing) and given another key to explore. This new room not only had a double bed but was huge, with an enormous bathroom and a private balcony with a table and two chairs overlooking the city, dozing in the sunset. A vast improvement!
The room was comfortable, clean and pleasant. The hotel staff were helpful when we enquired about local restaurants and ticket booking. The Alhambra was very close by so we could go for evening strolls in the woods. A bus goes from outside the hotel into the city although really it isn't that far too walk, just very steep. To take the bus each time though would be to miss out on the woods and various streets of Granada, with occasional wafts of guitar music floating about, escaping from one of the guitar making shops.
We did not take breakfast in the hotel so cannot comment. We had a bar snack one evening which was pleasant and not too expensive.

The views of the room was breathtaking, overlooking the Granada landscape. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The only regret was the room was pretty small. Their breakfast buffet was overall quite good except that they don't change the menu at all. So it was the same breakfast items everyday. We had dinner at the restaurant for one of the nights and I must say the food was pretty exceptional. We even managed to park our car at the hotel lobby for the whole week and so that saved us a fair bit of parking charges.
