It is not the best place, but according to the price, I was waiting for less. We paid total 100€ 2 people, from friday to Monday with bathroom inside our room, and in the city centre, historical area, so that was very good. The worst thing is that the place is a little bit noisy, we could hear pipes when another guest was going to the room. Anyway, If I go back to Granada planning a low cost trip, I would go back. Coffe Machine in the lobby and some snacks.

The room was very clean and they changed towels everyday!!

Pension Matilde was a good place to stay. The room was large enough, and although we had a shared bathroom there was a sink in the room which was helpful. We weren't travelling in high season, so the street it's on was not too noisy for us at night - not sure how this would be in summer.
The couple who own the place were very friendly and helpful.
The location was great. Pretty much within the centre of town, a short walk to all attractions, and absolutely no need for public transport. There was a great bar nearby with the best tapas we had in Granada - it was on one of the side streets on the North side of Plaza Trinidad, only about 15 metres up.
The only problem with this pension was that there were not many bathrooms (just one for the entire floor that we were staying on), and it was very small. Also, judging by items that were left in the bathroom by other guests, they were not cleaned often enough.
Taking in to account the price you pay at a place like this, it was generally a good experience.

This place was terrible. Our room was on a slant, the sink didn't drain, one combined bathroom and toilet for about 10 rooms. We had requested a non-smoking room and the person in the room next to us smoked the whole time and it filled our room with smoke. We woke up in the night because of the smoke problem. The sheets were stained. The noise from the street was really bad too. Definately go elsewhere.

5 minutes walk from the Cathedral, lots of restaurant all around, wired Internet in your room.
Calm if your alone in the pension, the rest depends on the respectfulness of the room neighbours; because the building has a lot of echo; so you ear everything that is going around. Ideal if you are travelling on a tight budget. I paid 16 euros/night with a «lavabo» in my room.

We stayed for two days at Pension Matilde. It's in a great location, on a pedestrianized street in the centre of Granada with numerous shops and bars nearby. Service was excellent. Checking in and out were quick and easy.

Our beds were very comfortable, with firm mattresses and the traditional Spanish sheet/blanket set that allows easy "climate control" during the night. Even though the room wasn't small, it was very awkward to move around in it, mainly from the presence of an enormous armoire, a shelf and a smal round table (but no chair). The armoire was particularly bewildering because no regular traveller would have use for it (it was REALLY, REALLY BIG) and it turned a well sized room into a cramped space.

Minor gripes are that there are no holders for the shower heads in the bathroom, so one has to hold the showerhead in one's hand continuously, missing toilet paper and a socket that was pulled out of the wall and had its wires exposed.

Everything was clean in the room but after accidentally dropping something and espying under the bed I discovered a an old sock covered in a thick layer of dust and fluff.

At any rate we are not very fussy travellers and our stay was pleasurable at Pensión Matilde and we would go back, although we wish that some simple improvements were made, such as carrying out repairs (hanging socket), installing shower heads, cleaning under the beds and keeping the furniture more minimalistic.
