“Good choice in a great city!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013

Granada is a great city to visit. Suites Gran Via is well located within 10 minutes walk of Plaza Nuevo and Cathedral or buses and taxis pass regularly. Cosy and somewhat spacious, really comfortable and clean. Everything was in working order and Wi Fi was good. Shuttered windows make slipping in to the siesta lifestyle very easy. Beds very comfortable. Agree with previous reviewers on check in staff; both helpful and knowledgeable. Don't come to Granada by car, but if you do, park it and travel around with the locals on buses or walk. While the kitchen in our apartment was well appointed, there was no tea, coffee or sugar for that arrival refreshment. Coffee in the local cafes is better, however though less convenient. I would definitely chose to stay here again.

Room Tip: We asked for a room away from the Gran Via and got it. It was very quiet, however you do sacrifice t...

the receptionist lady was very very friendly. the breakfast sent to our room wes exactly what we ordered.
the only minus point i can think of is : the property is very small. i suggest they should move to a bigger place and with the excellent management skills they got, they will be the no..1 in the area

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a very spacious and extremely nice hotel. I changed to this hotel after having paid for a different hotel in Granada and have absolutely no regrets! The staff working there are excellent and the place is wonderful too!

We enjoyed our visit at the Gran Via 44. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful--the woman who checked us in helped get us oriented about what was where and recommended a restaurant we loved. The room itself was great--more like a small apartment including a dining table, kitchenette with stove, refrigerator, microwave, a living area (with the sofa pulling out to a bed where our daughter slept) and a very comfortable bedroom and bathroom. We liked everything about this hotel except how noisy it was at night--the street noise was very loud and rowdy. My only question next time I visit Granada would be whether to choose a place in the Albacin instead. We walked all around that area and loved the atmosphere--I have no idea whether it would be quieter or not. The Gran Via 44 is on the Gran Via street, which is great for shopping and is right down the street from the Cathedral (worth a visit for sure). The marketplace area near the hotel is also terrific and really fun to walk around. One tip--the #1 thing to do in Granada is to visit the Alhambra. We bought tickets a couple of days in advance--you can buy them online and pick them up from Caixa ATMs in Granada when you get there. It saves a lot of time and ensures that you can visit the inside of the Nasrid palaces, only possible with a timed ticket. It was not particularly crowded when we went because it was off season, but I can imagine it would be worth purchasing your tickets far in advance if you go during a busy time. The Albacin was also extremely worth visiting-we walked about halfway up the hill--it's old, charming and has wonderful views of the Alhambra. The atmosphere is fantastic and there are squares to sit out and have coffee or lunch. We loved it. The public transportation in Granada seems like it's very good. We walked almost everywhere but our front desk friend directed us to a shuttle that goes from the Cathedral to the Alhambra (that we probably should have done...we walked, but it was pretty far and uphill all the way).

Nice surprise, great way to spend vacation with family and friends. The best part was the great service of the receptionist Fran. He was the heart of the place trying to please his guests as good as he could. Wished everyone was as service minded as he.

We were made to feel welcome from the first minute of our arrival. All the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. Some went out of their way to help - special mention here to Tatiana at reception. The suites are spacious and ideal for families. They offer privacy and enough options for self-catering.

We planned to use the hotel car park, but actually found parking in the little side road for free (just avoid the yellow lines). The optional breakfast is served to the suite at the desired time, which is very convenient especially for families. The only slight inconvenience was that there was no tea service in the suite, although a kettle was provided. However, a selection of tea and coffee was provided in the common room in the basement (as well as a computer, plenty of comfortable seating and a big screen TV).

The hotel is a short walk away from a lot of the city centre attractions, and there are also direct buses about 100 metres away to the Alhambra, the tour bus, Albayzin and Sacromonte. Right behind it is Calle Elvira with plenty of take aways, a small supermarket (Coviran), and tea shops - plenty of Halal food for those who need this, as we did (as well as a small mosque). Highly recommended!
