A most difficult place to find, especially if arriving by car, GPS SatNavs are useless for they cannot cope with Granada's one way system and it's narrow streets.
Having said that once you arrive the location more than makes up for this difficulty. You are greeted by very friendly staff, who explain all about 'living in a cave', and the view is to die for, overlooking The Alhambra in all it's glory.
The room in the cave takes some getting used to, with the only daylight coming via the front door, but you soon get used to the darkness. There is no noise from adjacent rooms and sleeping seems somehow more peaceful. The only fault we could find was the slightly damp feeling within the cave, but what do you expect in such surroundings, you have to try it.
The location is perfect once you have parked up the car (6 Euros per night nearby and organised by the hotel) you don't need it. You are just 15 minutes from the Alhambra Palace and Granada city centre. There are many restaurants and bars nearby with the excellent "Flamenco en el Albayzin" close by and well worth a visit.
My wife and I loved Granada for it's beauty, atmosphere and it's uniqueness and Montesclaros Apartments completed the package.More
