“Good food in Granada”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

I have eaten here several times since it opened many years ago and it never dissapoints. Both the menu del dia and the tapas raciones provide a higher quality of food than most places in the city. Whilst the busy tapas bars of Navas and Elvira are great fun, it's also nice to have a calm sit down meal here once in a while. Although slightly more expensive than some of the tapas bars, it is very good value especially by UK standards.

“Beautiful, authentic food at a great price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

My wife and I were looking for a nice lunch and, wow, did we find it here. The restaurant was quite full but, apart from us, seemed to be mostly locals including several "business" people. We both chose to go with one of the menus of the day which included a large glass of red wine.

We both had paella as a starter which was large and tasty. My wife then had Rabo de Toro (Ox-tail) and I had the Chotto (goat - or probably more like kid) in garlic. Both were full of flavour and really authentic compared to many of the restaurants we have eaten at in Andalucia. We then shared a Leche Frita which was part of my menu and my wife had a coffee.

Service was excellent, the table napery clean and fresh and the overall ambience was really warm and friendly. Overall the bill came to less than £35 which was amazing value.

Certainly worth a try if you want great food and great value.

“Very good value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

We stumbled upon this restaurant purely by chance and noticed the Tripadvisor sticker on the window. Since it had 4 stars, we decided that we were probably onto a good thing. We were not disappointed. The restaurant offers several Menu del Dias at a variety of prices so there were plenty of dishes all at a reasonable cost. We ordered our first courses - paella and spaghetti, both of which were the size of main courses which pleased my husband immensely! This was followed by succulent chicken and pork in a pepper sauce. The sweets were home made and both delicious-not always easy to find in Spain. The menu also included a drink and we both had a large glass of red wine which was of a fairly high standard. In fact, it was so good that we ordered a second glass. Coffee was not included in the price but we pushed the boat out and added that as well! Last of the big spenders then!? The total cost of the 2 meals was less than 40 euros so we were very happy with that. During the evening the restaurant became quite busy, mainly with local people so that is usually a good sign since the waiters appeared to know most of them. Service was efficient but not overwhelming. Only 2 little niggles or this could have had 5 stars-we had to ask for salt, pepper, oil and vinegar and also butter. Small matter, though.

“Fab food - went there 2 nights in a row.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

After an appalling tapas experience at a restaurant in the Paseo Padre Manjon by the river. (The restaurant called something like 'Restaurante 1899' , the final one of 3 and furthest from Pl.Nueva). Grey nameless meat bits bobbing around in a dubious liquid with bone shards in one corner, 2 appalling meatballs in another, a few reheated strands of paella rice and some tinned vegetables in viscous gunk. I had the distinct feeling that most of this had been on someone else's plate before. Possibly more than once.
So, IT WAS FABULOUS to come across the NUEVO in PL. NAVAS Clean, fresh, tasty food, large portions. Had a chicken soup and a Calabrian 'butterscotchy' dessert the first night. Next night tried a set menu (12-16 euros for 3 courses including a drink and was beaten by the size). Nice waiters. There is a 'Trip Advisor' recommended sign in the window. You can't go wrong.

“Friendly Nuevo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

A good menu of the day to choose from ranging from 12 euros to 24 euros also a la carte but the daily menu was excellent value. Friendly service a great place to go for a first meal in Granada while you find your feet.
