“Lovely place to stay”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

We spent 4 nights at this lovely B&B with friends to celebrate 2 significant birthdays. We stayed in the Persia and Sumeria rooms; both rooms had a bath and a separate walk in shower, a cool bath was very welcome after walking around the steep and cobbled streets of Granada. The views from the rooms and the terraces of the Alhambra and the Albaicin are wonderful.
Julio was an excellent host, very friendly and helpful. The rooms both have Juliet balconies for the views, but you can sit out on the terrace on the floor below (if the guests in the rooms on that floor, who have their own private terraces, have not monopolised all the seats on the communal terrace). The breakfasts are as stated by other reviewers, simple, fresh, local style and very good. There is wine and water available at a charge in the rooms and beer in the fridge in the kitchen; this is on a “trust” basis, you say how much you have had when you leave and pay the bill. Prices are the same as at local bars.

Again as other reviewers have said; if you have mobility problems then this may not be the place for you (the B&B or the area). If you don’t have problems, come here and enjoy wonderful views, the good hospitality, comfortable, clean rooms with great Moorish décor.

As other reviewers have stated, it is in a wonderful location. Beautifully decorated with touches of Moorish art giving it a very natural feel.
Antonio was a great host, making us feel very welcome and was able to help with any issue we had. Breakfast was great, with the bread and the freshly squeezed orange juice a highlight.

However, what topped it off was our room. We had the Saba room, the very top floor with a separate kitchenette. The view, though was fantastic. Utterly fantastic. We sat there with a drink (from the very reasonably priced mini bar) and just relax with an amazing view of the Alhambra. The excitement we felt after being introduced to the room has never been felt with any other room in any other part of the world.

Just go, read this and go. Now, just do it. Go Now, and I promise you will sit like we did, glass of wine in hand and just be dazzled. And tell Antonio we caught the right train eventually!

P.s. Considering the view the room is very reasonably priced. Trust me, put that in a 'chain' hotel, and you're paying double the amount, and you'll be sitting there thinking 'isn't this worth it'.

Room Tip: Saba room. If its available, book it.

This place is amazing! We spent two nights here and had two private balconies with incredible views of the Alhambra and the city. The rooms are beautifully decorated and our host, Julio, Antonio's brother, was gracious and helpful. I can't say enough about this place! The price was amazing. As one reviewer noted, this is not the place for someone with mobility problems, but truthfully, most of the Albayzin is difficult for anyone with mobility problems. As for me, I couldn't imagine going to Granada and staying anywhere else.

We could tell from other reviewers that Solar Montes Claros is in a wonderful location, close to the Alhambra - but we hadn't anticipated that it would be so luxuriously comfortable and furnished with artwork from all over the world. Each room is peaceful with its own beautiful view. There is a lovely courtyard full of flowers. The neighbourhood is full of life and interest.

Antonio, the manager made everything easy and comfortable. He seamlessly sorted out our travel glitches.

No doubt, we'll certainly keep this place in great memory of this trip. The location is fantastic. The owner is a great person, service excellent, breakfast exquisite, rooms are fantastically furnished... To use Clooney's words: what else?

We spent three nights in the Nubia Room. Antonio was the epitome of graciousness: he helped us store our two bike boxes downstairs(I'm not sure we could have managed to get them up the tiny winding staircase), gave us good recommendations for eating out, made delicious coffee and fresh orange juice each morning. And after a day of walking non-stop, the superb bed and fine linen sheets were a delight.

The location is quiet and perfect for exploring both the Albayzin and walking the back way to the Alhambra. The free pick up at the bus station was also helpful since I don't think we could have ever found the location without a expert local taxi driver.

This was a perfect place to acclimate before starting our cycling trip based in Ronda.

Room Tip: The Nubian Room was a nice size with a nice walk-in shower. Views of the Alhambra from the private...

This is another wonderful B&B we stayed in Spain for this trip! I selected Fenicia Room for our stay because I was attracted by the photo post on the website, but the real view from room is much much better than photos!
The B&B was located in the Albayzín, designed with Arab style, was very quiet at night! And it worth to spend time walk around the whole Albayzín area.
Fenicia Room was not big, but very lovely, it is extremely great for people like peace and relax. It was very easy for us to forget about the busy city life.
Antonio is a very nice person, warm and helpful, he made us felt like stay in a friend's home.
My wife choose Granada as the most favorite one among all the five cities in this journey, and this B&B stands a great part of the reason.
