We spent three nights in this B&B, located in a beautiful historic neighborhood, and enjoyed our stay immensely. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The little private patio with a view of the Alhambra was enchanting. Our host was knowledgable and helpful, and we were able to walk to many of the sites that this part of Granada has to offer.

Room Tip: Each room is unique, and we really enjoyed having a little private terrace with a view of the Alhamb...

....but Solar Montes Claros is a little jewel in the Spanish sun. Six bedrooms, but every one is special, furnished by the owner in the Moorish style. Without doubt a discreet B&B for the discerning traveller - a pool of tranquility tucked away amongst white-painted houses clinging to the hillside opposite the Alhambra. Highlight: breakfast on the terrace. In a world of constant change, I hope success doesn't spoil Solar Montes Claros, or success means it gets priced out of my reach. So, shhh! Don't tell too many people....

Room Tip: If you visit in the summer or have mobility problems, stick to the lower level accommodation, which...

We spent our magical two nights there. The room is clean and specially decorated in Arabic style which is the same style of the Unesco Albayzin Region. The premises are located up the hill but by 10 mins walk along the river that surround the Alhambra you will find the center of the tourist area where tons of restaurant and gift shop exist. By the opposite way you will walk into the magical district of Albayzin and its unique community and lifestyle. The location is just perfect.!
By the terrace of the room offers the amazing view of Alhambra and I recommend to do the sightseeing on the terrace of the room in late afternoon or at night. the view of both district and Alhambra is breathtaking and incredible and it's probably the only place in town that offers the both views.
Host Antonio is alway smiling and ready for help. He is familiar with the locality and he and his coworkers diligent work make this premises just unique. The deco of the room and premises is just amazing in the sense that all the details are considered and decorated withing the same style and the premise itself is a rich display of Arabic architecture and room decorations. And all is within a reasonable price.
Recommend room Saba at top, with the view just in front of your bed and the lovely kitchen that you can cook something lovely and drink with this magical palace and district!

We spent two nights in the B&B Solar MontesClaros and we loved everything. The host welcomed us very friendly and it was not a problem at all to find it as we had a free taxi service organised by the b&b directly from the bus station to Solar.
Our room was just perfect: big and comfortable bed, very nice shower, a lot of space and a very special decoration (Andalusian style). The bonus: the little terrace outside, from where you have the best panorama ever: la Alhambra!
Good breakfast, we also had free tea during the afternoon.
The big plus of this place is definately the magic location and its intimate atmosphere. Perfect for a special, relaxing and romatic stay.
Should I come back to Granada, I will definately visit Solar again.

The B&B Solar MontesClaros is located in the Albaycin and is up an alley. As soon as the taxi dropped us off, we were skeptical of our decision to stay here because of the look of the surrounding area. However, Antonio greeted us warmly and Jorge took our bags to our room.

The Sumeria Room is on the second floor and is beautiful, with a sunken tub, separate walk-in shower and beautifully decorated with Moorish touches.

The B&B was not accessible by car (just as most of the city). You have to leave the car in a parking 15 min drive away. Antonio organizes pick-up by taxi. Pick-up is included one-way only (info about this wasn't necessarily clear enough though). Antonio was great host. Warm, welcoming, and gave helpful and useful tips.

The B&B had an incredible charm, with a patio with a beautiful view to Granada and especially the Alhambra. Location was just 10 minutes away from the center walking.

Our Room was spacious, the bed really big and with high quality bedding. Very charming in an islamic-style way. Colorful rugs, antique-type furniture. The toilet was separated from the bathroom, however, there was a constant sewer smell!

The included Breakfast was fresh and very good (fresh fruit, classical toasted bread & a great tomato spread, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and fantastic cappuccino.

Exceptionally beautiful room (Persia), lovely terrace, magnificent view of AlHambra, and a charming and helpful host. In every way a truly superior experience. The location is perfect for walking to the sights of Granada. Julio was lovely and so helpful - we booked very last minute and called him from the motorway but he guided us over the phone very patiently to a safe and easily accessible area to park our car. The care which he takes to ensure everything is of excellent quality is obvious from the moment you arrive and he is genuinely keen to provide everything guests need to have a relaxing stay. We had a memorable visit and hope to go back. Would recommend without hesitation.

This property is beautiful and clean. The decor and appointments are exquisite.
Antonio is a fine host and his limited breakfast is tasty and sufficient. The only problem, as noted
by "Mixed Feelings" is the entrance. It is a 150 foot climb up a winding, steep ramp with
no hand rail and no guard rail. When we arrived, a workman from a home at the top of
the ramp but before you reached the hotel's front door was washing something so dirty water
was running down the ramp making the climb even harder. Then we did the climb several
times in the rain; very dangerous and challenging; I slipped but caught myself one time.
The cab driver helped us with our bags both ways, thankfully. I am 75 and my wife is in her sixties but we are in good shape and handled it; it might be pretty hard for
anyone not physically able. Also, you must climb a circular stair case to get to your
room; no choice. For whatever it is worth, a hand rail and a guard rail on the ramp
would make a difference. Interestingly their website shows a staired entrance a few
feet up Camino Del Sacromonte (not on Monte Carlos) but that was never offered to us.
Also, the climb up Questa Del Chapiz is also a real challenge; about a 25 degree slope
for three long blocks. One plus: the No. 35 bus stops right on the corner and goes right downtown and what a ride: puts Disney to shame. BTW, Granada is a special city. And Rick
Steves book helped especially the walking tour.

Room Tip: We had a room on the first level with a private patio above the main one but many rooms seemed to h...
