Excellent chicken soup, lamb-chicken pastry with plum sauce, pork medalion with pine nut sauce. Smallish portions, but tasty food. Would recommend to anyone.

Waited 15 minutes just to get a menu on a non-busy evening, then waiter never returned. We asked other waiters for help several times with no luck. We finally left about about 30 more minutes.

The Albanta was nearby our hotel and provided a delicious meal at the end of a long day. Situated in a lovely courtyard, my appetizer of crisply fried eggplant drizzled with honey was yummy. My wife's cod was luscious and my pastlla was tasty but a bit dry. Service was gracious and efficient.

We were staying in the Alhambra area of Granada but didn't want to go into town on a Sunday night. The proprietor of our hotel recommended Albanta which was a stone throw from the hotel. We were not disappointed and enjoyed a starter of fresh fruit with a savoury dressing and very well cooked fish to follow. We were really well looked after by a member of staff and having a crepe hut available made my daughter's evening. We wish we came back on the second night after we had a meal in the centre of town where my fish was still frozen in the middle!

The Albanta Restuarant at the bottom of the hill leading up to the palaces was the worst I have eaten in the whole of Spain. It was our last day of a 2 week holiday, the menu and the restaurant looked attractive but a bit expensive, but we thought lets go for it.

My first course, tropical fruit salad with langustionos tasted like it had all come out of the same tin. The main course, 'solomillo' tasted worse than my grandma's old leather handbag and the vegetables were soggy. My husbands soup de pescado, looked glutinous, more porridge than soup. His veal dish was tender but a river of sauce ruined the dish. The dry white wine we ordered was warm and tasted more like Andrews liver salts!

There are so many good restaurants and Tapas bars in Granada that don't cost a fortune and use fresh local ingredients. The best value and good quality food in Spain has always been the menu del dias that cost between 6 to 15 euros a head.
