Granada is such a great city and Los Manueles does not disappoint. The food, drinks, and tapas are always delicious. Good service. It is popular with tourist and a little crowded, but plenty of room. There are some other great tapas bars off the main roads, but this one is dependable and delicious.

My son and I went here for lunch after it was recommended by our host for traditional Andalusian food. We felt that was exactly what we got! We sat at the bar and the service was good. Granada is not the spot for fast service so please don't expect that. It seemed to be a spot popular with locals and it was good value as well. It is especially great for people watching while taking in lunch. Most of the people sitting at the bar seemed to know the personnel. I am so glad we followed our hotel's recommendation.

We asked two different establishments whom we were their guests, were will they go eat dinner in a place which won't be to much of a 'tourist trap', interestingly enough both gave us the name of this place - it's important to mention that both people weren't aware of the other recommendation and they're also not connected (so likely both aren't paid by this the restaurant)

After reading the reviews I was very confused, some people really liked the place but others didn't - still hundreds of people found it to be very good vs. a few dozens that didn't, we decided to give it a go.

So I think I understand why there's such a disparity between the different reviews, you can enjoy a good meal at Los Manueles but it won't be a great one and it will be more expensive than other good places, my view is that if you're a tourist than if this is your first meal it'll look OK but if you've already eaten in other good places it won't be that OK

The food you'll get will be good but the value for money will only be OK, hence why if we had time for another meal it would probably be in another place as you can find restaurants with good food and good value for money

After having checked in to our hotel - Alixares (see review) I asked for a restaurant recommendation at reception as we wanted to go to an area with authentic tapas bars frequented by locals and not tourists. The receptionist immediately recommended Los Manueles, and I was immediately sceptical, assuming the place must belong to either her friends or family; failing that I assumed she was being paid commission to recommend the restaurant.

I was wrong about everything!

We didn't go that night, but tried it for lunch the following day and we were both pleasantly surprised as the place served good quality tapas and drinks; the service was friendly and efficient and the place rightly popular.

In these instances, I like to be proved wrong and we were considering returning for our final lunch in Granada, but the logistics of getting out bags etc on to the small bus from Alixares to Plaza Nueva, having lunch and then getting a cab to the bus station seemed overly complicated with the time we had available.

Go and try Los Manueles if you can. It won't disappoint.

Recommended by our hotel but very poor indeed. The atmosphere is pretty horrible with people walking down the alleyway by your table and car fumes. Some of the food was alright but the waiter managed to forget one of our two main courses.....
