Our tour guide Rui recommended this restaurant on the last day of our stay in Torremolinos. We were staying on the beach and made the trek up to Calle las Mercedes to this cozy family restaurant. Once inside our charming waiter told us we could have this reserved table but had to be finished by 10:30--no worry, it was only a bit past 8. The walls are covered with beautifully painted murals. The menus had lots of choices. We decided to order several little tapas dishes to share and lovely white wine that was very inexpensive. We were very excited to see that they had fried sardines! We also had the scallops, clams, mushrooms, bread and mixed salad. Some of the others in our group came in and ate too. We enjoyed a glass of sangria they ordered and it was yummy. We finished the meal off with a cold digestif that was good too. I laughed when he said we had to be out by 10:30 but really, we could have stayed that long.I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I wish we had eaten there more than once. Excellent food and service. Muchas Gracias!!!

Guerola is located on the corner of Calle San Miguel and Calle Casablanca/Calle Mercedes - close to the central square in Torremolinos and the train station.

This bodega really has Spanish charm in terms of decor with its rustic feel and the ambience.
There are tables inside plus barrels with stools outside. You can also sit at the bar (tapas appeared to be €2.50 each).

We went for lunch and chose a variety of racions. Salad of cogollos (hearts of little gem lettuces) €2.50, salad of tomatoes €3.50, gambas pil-pil €5, boquerones al limon (opened anchovies with the heads and bones removed and deep fried) €7, almejas (clams) €8. Everything was freshly prepared and the cogollos and tomatoes were served together in a large platter.

Every dish really was excellent. The waiter described the choices of wine and we chose a bottle of Ribera del Duero roble red wine €14.

The waiter who spoke good English was most attentive and changed our plates frequently.

Altogether, with sparkling waters and coffees, and including the wine, the bill for two came to €44 which for the quality of the meal is truly excellent value.

I absolutely love this little tapas. From the moment you walk in, Raphael or Raffa to his friends which we now feel we have become, make you feel very welcome. The service is excellent as is the food. The pil-pil prawns are to die for as is the simple tomato and onion salad. A great place to eat, take friends and value for money. Don't go to Torremolinos without visiting this little gem :-)

Great food and ambience and very friendly owner and staff with a good sense of humour.
First visit we had a fresh fish in the restaurant area which was not on the menu but was cooked beautifully and the second time we sat at the bar as the small restaurant was full and just ordered Tapas as and when we wanted it. Very friendly service and delicious food. Probably would have eaten there more times if we had found the restaurant on our first night.

We were here in February 2014 on two consecutive nights and had very good meals, excellent wine and a great time. Do not miss the gambas a la plancha, the boquerones and the small peppers! The aubergines (berenjenas) were a little greasy for our tastes, and the pilipili gambas swam in a bit too much oil, but all the rest was really very tasty. You can order half portions too and try yourself through the menu...
My friend tried flan for dessert and was very happy with that too. Also we wer treated to some complimentary mini-icecream bars which ewre delicious.
Nice atmosphere, busy with locals and some few tourists (low season) and reasonable prices.
