sea view, clean apartment on top floor, quiet and central in off season - very few authentic Spanish eateries close by. A lot of greasey cafe types serving chicken and chips. Good value for the amount of money paid

Room Tip: Top floor sea view in off season

Just back from 4 night stay at Buensol with my husband. Had requested a one bedroom with pool view but got a 2 bedroom (109) with sea view. View not particularly good as huge tree was in front of us, although the balcony was a good size with a table and 6 chairs. Interior was extremely basic, a couch, two plastic chairs and a table with 4 plastic chairs. Bedroom again had limited furniture, double wardrobe hard to slide open with broken hangers. Bathroom had shower over bath (which only a child could sit in) and a plastic curtain to pull around. Kitchen so small I could touch both walls at same time. Fridge freezer good size but rusty, no electric kettle really really basic, there's no way I could had made even toast if kids had been there. Holes in doors and in general need of updating or even a lick of paint. Bedroom was over the laundry room or something similar as there was a constant hum all night which kept me awake a lot. Pool area ok but again in need of repair - broken tiles etc and I noticed the grass around the kids pool area was that sparse if was mainly muck. Air con only in living area. Plenty of towels and bed made up once but we were only there for 4 nights. Location is probably why people go to this hotel. Its very central to everything. Out the side gate of hotel and within one minute your on the beach, a right turn brings you towards the harbour which has lots of restaurants and shops although make sure you walk right up into the marina because there are lots there. Left turn brings you to some shops and restaurants but if you walk for about 10 minutes there are loads of little tapas bars/cafes/restaurants and shops set one street back. Torremolinos is a lovely resort and I would go back with my children but not to the Buensol Apartments as these are too basic for me - as the local English call them 'Alcatraz' .

Room Tip: sea views at back get morning sun until about 1pm, but you'd need to be on at least 2nd floor to...

First of all we arrived around 1 in the morning and went up to room 113 to discover it was a hell hole, the decor was outdated, fridge was rusty and there were holes in every door, also in the toilet bin there was a dirty sanitary product so either the maids had used to room or it wasn't cleaned! As it was 1 in the morning we decided we would stay in the room for that night, as we laid in bed we could hear absolutely everything around us, upstairs going to the toilet, pipes from the bathroom and a group of loud lads next door, fair to say none of us slept much. We went down to reception in the morning to complain to which they then suggested we move rooms, so then we were relocated to room 203 which had a lovely sea view and it was a big improvement, there was no noise and the appliances all worked fine. We didn't get no matches for the oven and when all three of us went into the shower consecutively the hot water went cold and the boiler in the kitchen started leaking water a little. When enquiring about a safety deposit box they told us about the stealing situation by the pool and advised us to be careful, when they should be the ones sorting it out.The cleaners came once but as we were in they just asked about towels and linen, but even when we changed the bedding the fresh linen was full of long black hair, there wasn't a sheet without! We didn't pay for A/C but there was no remote and it was 3€ a day for only two English channels- BBC news and Itv. I went with family and I wouldn't go with family again but if it was friends and we would be out most of the time then fine. We just ended up laughing about our holiday disasters.

But the rest is very 2*. Well that's what we paid for. Charged in full at check-in, plus a cash €50 damage deposit. Fine, but sign in the apartment to say if you don't clean it before you go or leave litter inside....you don't get your money back! So what are the cleaners for?

Pay for A/C quite acceptable, pay for TV, quite acceptable ..... but you can't use the gas cooker unless you buy your own matches, that's not acceptable (even though matches are cheap). The cooking facilities in an apartment are an integral part of the accommodation, you should not have to buy anything extra to use them, even a box of matches.

WIFI worked well, in reception area and free.

Great position for local/Irish/British bars and restaurants. also just off the main promendade.

Room Tip: Don't know how numbers go, but 507 has great position with big balcony and full sea view.

We have used Buensol a few times, and have always found the apartments clean with a change of towels and maid service every 3 day.If it's just a base you are looking for this place is perfect. There can be a bit of noise with a lot of young groups of people staying here, but the staff always try to put families away from the noisey ones if possible. It is only a 2 minute walk to the beach and it's close to plenty of bars, restaurants and shops, with the Marina a 5 minute walk away.I would recommend it for its location and like they say you get what you pay for what can you expect from a cheap hotel!

On the 2nd day of my stay with the Buensol, my handbag was stolen from the pool (which has no security or life guard!!!) when I told the receptionist on duty he laughed! yes laughed and proceeded to tell the 4 housekeeping staff that happened to be standing there! Although that is not the responsibility of the apartments , My room key was in my bag and instead of any courtesy or sympathy I got a slap on the wrist and was told that we needed to pay €20 to replace the key. If any of you have stayed here before you know that the room keys have the room numbers printed on them so I felt uncomfortable staying in the same room for the remainder of the week. We were told that there was no alternative rooms available but if we wanted we could pay a further €25 to replace the locks!!! SCAM ARTISTS!!! they eventually agreed to change the locks foc....aside from the drama mentioned the apartment was cleaned only once in 7 days and that was the day before we departed , no clean towels or toilet paper brought to the apartment. The noise at night-time was unbelievable it was 4:15 am one night before I got to sleep, Also in our apartment there must have been some kind of plumbing problem as every morning the apartment filled with a stench that was unbearable!! all in all out of 10 I would give this place a 2 and the only reason they get a 2 is due to location and the pool is nice.

Room Tip: Sea View apartments appeared bigger.

Where to start? At check in the receptionist told everyone there were too many bookings and she couldn't handle it. She did muddle through- not proffessional at all. The apartment itself was clean - but that is the only good thing. You can hear everything in the apartments above, below & to the side!!! The bathroom is off the bedroom - not ideal when sharing. When some one in a floor above flushes the loo, it gurgles in the sink !!!! The noise of this will wake you up!! (& I had earplugs). The complex is poorly maintained. The pool bar closes whenever they want to. No sunbeds available as they were all reserved by towels (there are numerous signs stating this is not allowed & they will remove them - However the staff ignore the situation). The complex is very noisy at night - again staff do not care. Nice location, absolutely rubbish apartments - go somewhere else!!
