Description: In 2006 El Gato opened its doors and since then it became one of those 'ever-popular' restaurants. Inspired by the spirit of Spain we embrace a philosophy that connects Good Food and Mediterranean free style, resulting in an unpretentious eatery known for its quality food and friendly service that has become a favorite among locals and so many returning visitors.

We have been there yesterday and to day and we have dried a lot of dishes!!! Every dish was tasty and very good. The waiters are very friendly and the prices are very fair. Online you can have a look at the menu.

We had two times dinner and one lunch at El Gato and all the times it was great. For dinner we had, like many others before us, the special tapas menu. Twelve different kind of tapas presented in a very special and spectaculair way. It gave us the opportunity to pic one of those twelve one by one, first me and then my husband. That made it really funny to eat.
The tapas where great and the staf was very friendley and helpfull.
The second diner I ordered the spanish croquettes: lovely and my husband had the machoburger, also great food.
The owners, a Dutch couple where very friendly. They took time to make a conversation.
The place is really nice with good lights and people walking by on the boulevard.
Yes, we come back next year!! The Spanish waiters are friendly and speak (a bit) English.

Relaxed laid back tapas bar, very good value compared to other beach front bars. Waiter was really friendly and food was delicious. I would go back again if I was in the area.

On the basis of these Trip Advisor reviews we couldn't ignore El Gato - we reserved a table, a definite must for this busy restaurant and had a comfortable corner sofa waiting for us upon arrival. The sharing tapas is very originally served with small plates in a freestanding shelf case that they put on the table (Very difficult to explain). There were some disguised chillis which left a couple of us on the table choking which was quite entertaining.

We ordered the blue cheese, brie and caramelised onion Rosca bread which was absolutely incredible and well recommended! It was a starter for us but it was the highlight of the meal. The chicken and serrano ham croquette was incredibly delicious - 3/3 of us enjoyed this. For mains we ordered a basic sharing tapas - the food was all incredibly rich and succulent and a true culinary experience. We also added a patatas bravas (which just looked like roasted potato with ketchup and mayo) nothing to shout about.

General consensus on the cocktails from the six of us - all delicious. I tried a Orange Mojito to see if it was possible and it worked beautifully - recommend this as dessert!

Great view, great service, great atmosphere!
