“Great Value and Clean Hotel”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Just back from 5 days Staying at Hotel Puente Real and had a wonderful relaxing time. Stayed in a superior room (2616) was very comfortable airy and clean, a view of the beach but looks over to the hotel next door. The room next to it on the end (2615) would have face directly onto the sea for a better view.

Food for me is what you expect from an all inclusive, about 6 different hot dishes each night, the likes of beef, pork, fishes, rice dishes, vegetable dishes, pizzas, chips. I couldn't complain. I really enjoyed the fresh salad/pasta bars and the vast selection. All inclusive drinks on tap in restaurant to help yourself. Only thing with dining was the busyness of it. The hotel was full of older Spanish guests who's manners and patience were not what i'm use to, so be prepared to be pushed in front of and barged passed, but hey ho made me laugh.

Outside pool snacks are chicken skewers, burgers, hot dogs, toasties, chips etc, Very naughty but tasted not bad at all. The guy cooking them was a nice chap. The girl who worked in the pool bar was very cheery.

Drinks on tap outside too. Only thing is i like plenty of water for the room so took up cup falls but ended up having to buy water bottles as these didn't last and i got told off for filling my water bottle up at machine.

The pool i tested once as was freezing but kids at the hotel seemed to enjoy it. Pool area quite crammed at height of the day with sun loungers up close next to each other but there was another pool round the back of apartments which was quieter.

Never really watched much of the late entertainment as was enjoying meeting people, going for a walk and early nights.

A great trip and I couldn't fault it, especially with what I paid. (Found the most reasonable rate booking directly with hotel online)

Overall the staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was very clean, only 10 mins from airport (4 euros for bus, which stops right outside 18 for taxi, not sure on train.) a nice 45 min walk into the centre of Torremolinos.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

We had an apartment as we travelled with 2 Children, these are behind the main hotel and are very nice 3 storey buildings, avoid the last block as they look over the rear of the building in front and really is not a great view and also makes them very dark. We did get moved the next morning to a much nicer one, the staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing seemed to much for them. The bar staff and the man in the snack bar who was cooking all day long were very good. The pool area was very clean and plenty of sunbeds. The beach was directly opposite and the kids were more than happy here..Bit of day time entertainment for the kids which was enough, my kids enjoyed the pool and beach. The restaurant food was a bit disappointing for a 4 star hotel but that said none of us starved.. We would stay here again as overall a nice relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: From what we saw all the apartments were the same. Avoid the very back ones if possible

Just returned from a weeks holiday here. Overall the hotel was OK value for money. Food was OK, great selection of fish every day and meat based meals changed every night, But I found the meals to be bland, the Spanish can be fantastic cooks but there was no real taste to the food here ! The pool area was nice, lots of sunbeds, pool bar and snack bar brill, but the pool was freezing, literally you could not swim in it !!. Grown men jumped in and within seconds jumped out. The kids were disappointed with this as they could not spend any length of time in the pool! Don't know if they heat it later in the year! But they should heat it now, not just at certain times of the year.
One of the entertainment staff told us that of an evening, in the summer they have a lot more going on, entertainment outside, pool bar open later etc etc, well this is all well and good but what about the rest of the year? We were there now, not in the summer! Hence there was a lack of things for the kids to do of an evening. If you had dinner at 7, the 'entertainment room' did not open till 9.30 so what are you supposed to do in between this time? The pool bar closes at 7, and there is nothing else to do but sit in the bar, try that with 3 bored kids for 2 hours, and then the entertainment was not good, very much geared towards the Spanish, we lasted half an hour and then left. So, we had to go out every night over to the beach for the kids to play football etc and returned about 10pm for a game of cards ( the only thing that keeps you sane).
So, overall the hotel was good value for the money, rooms good and clean. Staff nice and sometimes helpful.
Few tips, if you have a family of more than 4 of you, there are NO 6 seat taxis in this area at all. So you had to get 2 taxis from the airport at a cost of 20 euros each cab. The train is the best option, 1.85 euros each to la Colina and 10mins walk to the hotel. (Head for the seafront).
Town centre is at least a 35mins walk from hotel.

Just returned from a week at this hotel and thought it was good value for money. On arrival we had missed the evening meal but had been saved a cold meat salad with a bottle of wine which was a nice touch and from here on in everything was great. The restaurant food was decent but you could also eat at the poolside BBQ which was also popular. The main thing I was impressed about was the hotel staff, all very pleasant and friendly with nothing too much trouble. Finally the cleanliness of the hotel was very good with rooms cleaned daily.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday here and we enjoyed it as much as the first time.
We find the hotel to be excellent value for money. There is a good variety of food on offer at every meal.. It is clean and our rooms were attended to every day. I requested extra pillows and coat hangers and they came immediately.
There are always a lot of Spanish pensioners at this hotel but they are on a different board basis and have their own set times to come into the dining room. They are not on allinclusive but have a ration of wine and water at each meal, So do not get better service than anyone else -just different. Mostly they are out on coach trips most days so do not take up sunbeds around the pool.
The hotel is almost on the beach but a long way out of the centre. However there is a bus stop outside the hotel and reception will give you a timetable. The buses run about every half hour and are cheap..
You can also take the local train as far as Fuengirola . It is easy to do . You get your ticket at the station from a machine. The stops are announced in English so you cannot get lost.
Service for food and drink is excellent at the pool bar.the guy who cooks never stops -very busy and always smiling.
we recommend this hotel to everyone.

Hotel kept very clean, housekeeping in the apartments good. Food was alright, plenty of it and I am sure something for every one. Salad bar really nice, plenty to choose from.

Reception staff very serious could do with smiling now and again. .
Staff at the pool bar and snack bar were lovely, very pleasant and nothing too much trouble for them. Snacks all cooked fresh with a good variety.

Entertainment could be much better, quite boring.

WE had a problem with the air con and I have to say the service from the maintenance was fantastic, it was all sorted within 20mins, couldn't wish for anything better..
Plenty of sunbeds around the pool but don't know if it would be enough at the height of the season.
There was work going on, maintenance repairs etc so there was a lot of noise from drills while sitting around the pool. All in all a good holiday but don't know if I would go back again.

Room Tip: Just the luck of the draw we changed after one day to go up one floor in the apartments. So I think...

Me and my wife stayed here for week all inclusive. I really don't know what some people are moaning about as this hotel was excellent value for money and in a brilliant location. Yes there were lots of Spanish pensioners getting there free holiday but so what it is in Spain. The room was always clean, food choice always good and cooked very well. We had no problem getting tables, and if there were queues for food it was only a case of a 10 second wait, it was packed but Easter is the Holy Week for many Spanish people so to be expected. We certainly had no unhelpful staff. Reception, waiters, bar staff, cleaners etc really helpfull, and if any came across as blunt well most people know what the Spanish can be like. Me and my wife are very honest people and genuinely had a great holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone, we will definitely be back.
