Clean hotel, rooms quite small! Beds very hard!! No balcony in our room so found too hot in august with no air con and only a fan that circulates hot air! tried keeping window open at night but far too loud as room faced street so had very little sleep!! Also no where to dry towels etc!
Pool ok but not enough sunbeds and quite shaded most of the day so spent days at the beach. Great location near beach, restaurants and shops.
Staff friendly apart from Christina!! Never ate here so cant comment on the food!
Would not stay here in august again unless got room with balcony and air con was installed!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with balcony!

we went a girls only weekend and chose this hotel as I had stayed there before with my husband many years ago, we checked in and were met with a cold rude manager called Christine who basically didn't even look at us and shoved the keys at us and walked off, the rooms are clean but basic, the pool area is very clean but not enough beds. The reception area and bar area need changing as they have been like this for at least 17 years but the staff were pleasant and work hard, this hotel is a little gem, not far from the shops and restaurants so please please tell the manager to smile a little more and mingle with guests. My only complaint is that we had to vacate our rooms by noon but we were not being collected until 6 pm, we asked if there was a shower room where we could change before leaving, there wasn't one and bearing in mind the temperature was in the 90's this is ridiculous.

Room Tip: the roomsat the front of the hotel are very noisy try and ask for a room with pool view

we stayed at this hotel for a very very reasonable price at the end of august. It was in a fantastic location and very clean hotel. the maids came in everyday and cleaned the room. there was a small pool which was nice and relaxing as was quiet. The room was a nice size with a nice balcony. our balcany had a slight view of the beach which was very plesant. the room had a large mirror a t.v a desk a chair a wardrobe two beds and a fan and a bedside table. there is no air conditioning but we did not find this a problem as we just slept with the patio open and the fan on. The best thing about this hotel is deffinatley the loaction. it is a minute walk away from the beach and a minute away from a street full of bars and restruants. it is a nice area and you felt safe walking about even at twelve or one at night. we are a young couple who always go on budget holidays and this hotel was ideal it is not luxury but for the price you dont expect that it is however a very nice hotel that leads to a lovely holiday because of the location.

we spent 5 days in this hotel in august and we loved it. It was cheap and cheerful. The rooms were basic but perfectly adequate. The pool was quiet even in august and was lovely. No screaming kids or loud adults. The hotel was central to all bars and restuarants and the beach was only a 5 minute walk away. We intend to go back to this hotel as its all you need for a great 5 day break.

My partner and I had a 3 night break at the El Tiburon hotel and we really enjoyed it.

The hotel is very clean and has a small but adequate pool, the bar is cheap we had a glass of rose wine for 1 euro. The hotel is centrally located and is a ten minute walk to the gorgeous Benalmadena marina. The beach is a two minute walk away but we decided to stay by the pool as it was quiet and peaceful.

The rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels replaced daily too.
There was a tv in the room with a couple of english programmes, rooms are quite big with an adequate bathroom but no hair dryers available. The weather was fantastic and we would definitely visit this hotel again.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a balcony

My partner and I stayed in here for 5 nights in Aug and we really could not fault the hotel for the price we paid.

The location is excellent (couple of mins walk to beach and shops, 10 min stroll to irish and english bars) and we had read previous reviews so we knew what to expect. The rooms are quite basic but clean. There is no air con as previously mentioned but this wasnt a huge issue for late Aug. We would have liked a mini fridge but having said that there is a full bar which sells water and drinks at more or less supermarket prices. The bar also served breakfast and other food throughout the day which looked good and was reasonably priced. There were 2 happy hours each day too which were very good value.

Our room had a TV with a number of english channels, we even got a daily fix of Daybreak (GMTV) each morning!

The pool area and swimming pool is quite small but there were no shortage of sun beds. I do not think the hotel was fully occupied, maybe this would have been a problem if so. Check out is 10am but no one came near us on our last day to remind us of this so we checked out at our leisure which was good.

We found all cleaning and bar staff to be very friendly but as others mention the lady manager is a different kettle of fish!!

Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to those who are not looking for luxury and are willing to let a few things slide.

Room Tip: Ask for one over looking the pool

The Hotel El Tiburon is cheap and cheerful, and although not exactly luxurious, it is value for money.
We have been at least 6 times and are due another visit at the end of September 2011,
so must be OK if we keep going back. The beds are very firm and the rooms basic, but the difference in the prices of hotels in Carihuela is so huge that it makes this one an excellent choice for a cheap break away. We had heard last year that there had been a lot of burglaries, so we recommend you get a safety deposit box, and if possible don't leave lots of valuable in the rooms.
Staff are on the whole friendly enough, Christina the owner has got a reputation of being a bit miserable, but she is never impolite even though she doesn't smile much. I think it is getting a bit of a joke, and she has appearances to keep up!!!
