Just returned from 4 nights at the Cervantes. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The young lady on reception found us a room with a sea view when asked, which was a bonus because we were in a quieter area and got the sun on our balcony all morning. The room was comfortable and clean, with sheets and towels changed.
A lot of people comment on the food at the Cervantes and I wonder what some of them expect for the cost of all inclusive? The self service dining is not for the faint hearted at peak times but is much quieter earlier or later, or breakfast before 9am.There was a wide selection on offer every day - lovely salads and breads, meat and fresh fish cooked on the hotplate, different paella every day, fresh fruit. It's not cordon blue but you get what you pay for. The hotel caters for a wide range of nationalities so be prepared to try something new. I overheard one lady complaining about the food at breakfast "I tried it again but it's still Spanish - they just don't know how to make a good english breakfast"!!
All Inclusive gives a reasonable choice of drinks and the one bar open was fine, with tables outside. It tended to be monopolised by groups of Brits who chose to drink all day and all evening - clearly intent on getting their money's worth! The hotel is very central and handy for the beach lift that takes you down to the lovely promenade.
Although the weather was lovely, it was too cold for the outside pool! We did think the pool area was a bit small for the size of the hotel, which could be an issue in high season. Overall, a lovely winter break and great value for money.

Weekend away booked through easyjet holidays who rated it as a 5* star hotel. It's own rating is 4* and I would say the food, bar, facilities, reception is 4* but the rooms I would only rate as 3*. Rooms clean but basic and look like they need modernising as they don't match the style of the reception, restaurant and bar area. Bathroom small but clean and had everything you needed. Room good size with a fantastic king size plus bed with a firm mattress-had the best nights sleep.
Restaurant did fabulous breakfasts. Lunch and dinner are the usual buffet offerings for a 3* hotel. Plenty of choice and food hot and was replenished regularly. It does get busy at times so you may have to queue- dread to think how busy it is in the summer.
Bar was fab and there are additional tea n coffee facilities for all inclusive guests. Entertainment on Friday & Saturday evening.
Good location for commercial shopping area and train station. The lift down to the beach is a good idea as it can be a trek up steps on the way back up.
Overall great weekend break. Good hotel and great value for money. We had no trouble with noise or rowdy guests so would recommend this hotel for a short break.

Don't get me wrong the hotel and the location were fine it's just there's not a lot to do unless you want to sit around, chat and drink. ( Which seemed alright for some of the guests ) There was no entertainment from Sunday to Thursday, Friday and Saturday the place came alive with the introduction of a resident band and the Spanish visitors who just love to dance. The hotel was clean and well kept, the location was perfect for the shopping centre and a number of small bars that were scattered around. Food at the hotel was ok, remember I'm a Veggie so it can be a bit awkward, but there was plenty of salad, veggie soup options and a Pasta selection, breakfast was fine, bit busy after 9 am. We booked transport but chose to use the tain as advised on previous reviews. 3.10 Euros one way,I could have saved £40 on the booking if I had read the comments earlier, the hotel is right in front of you as you leave the station. Rooms were cleaned daily and you won't be interupted if you leave th sign on the door. Altough we were put out by the fact that they only allowed two drinks per person on the AI, this was the same for everyone so you really can't complain. All in all a good, clean hotel that has the benefit of a central location, would I go back ? Probably not, mainly because of the lack of entertainment, perhaps it was the time of year but just background music or even some parrots would have broken up the nights. These are my thoughts of my holiday and may not be the same as everyone, all the best to everyone we met. Chico and Mary.

Room Tip: Our room was at the back of the hotel so we didn't get the benefit of a sea view.

Had a enjoyable week here in Jan 2011 all inclusive. Check in was efficient, we requested a high room and they had reserved one. Was able to check in at 12 and given the AI bands straight away so could go to bar and lunch. Property is spotless and quite stylish, well maintained and run. Rooms are good size with nice sea views, maid service excellent. Outdoor pool not heated so too cold in Jan, indoor pool was fine. AI drinks were available 11-11 and were normal local beers (san miguel) wines and spirits (including baileys and a few cocktails). Food was average, they made an effort with alot of choice but it got a bit repetitive. Always soup, fresh salad and fruit and help-yourself drinks. Overall reallly enjoyed the week, met lots of great people here and had alot of fun. Torremolinos itself is really pretty, and even though out of season was still bustling and busy.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor, don't need to pay extra for sea view as most rooms have it anyway.

We stayed for a long weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The check-in at reception was very smooth and informative. Our room was on the 4th floor with a sea view. It was very clean and tidy, maybe slightly dated but all the facilities were good. The bathroom looked like it had been refurbished and was very good with basic toiletteries and clean towels. The restaurant had a good choice of hot and cold food and was more than ample, you could help yourself to soft drinks, wine or beer at lunchtime or evenings. We found the restaurant staff good, the tables were laid and cleared fairly promptly. The bar in the lounge was very good, an excellent selection of drinks on the all inclusive package. Antonia was an excellent barman and kept the queues to a minimum. The bar where the entertainment was on, wasnt open during our stay (out of season). The location is very good, close to the train terminal, shops, bars and restaurants. We walked down the winding steps, passing some lovely local shops etc arriving at the promenade, you can walk for miles and find lots of places to eat, drink and shop. The only downside I can think of, would be the lifts, we walked down the stairs each time, which was ok, but waiting for the lift to take you upstairs can be a long experience.

Room Tip: A sea view is worth the extra few pounds, the inland view could be very disappointing

Just back from 2wks here. Read both good and bad reviews about it before going and feel that some of the remarks were very unfair. The staff were all hard working and friendly, especially if You made an effort to be nice to them. I would like to pick out Suzanne and Carlos in the dinning room but that would be unfair to the others.
The Reception staff are efficient but at times very busy so do not expect individual attention, like everyone they are only human.
The room (629) was large and clean with a good sized balcony. The room was cleaned and towels and sheets changed every day of our two week stay.
The food was plentiful, well cooked and presented, and if you couldn't find something you liked then you really didn't try.
Lifts were a problem but mainly because parents allowed their little angels to play around in them, even though there are notices saying children should be accompanied by an adult in the lift. Perhaps the adults couldn't read?
Night time noise was not a big problem, but when it occured, it was due to Brits abroad showing the rest of the world just how ignorant we could be.
Along with the lift problem, I do not see how the Hotel or its staff could be criticised for the behaviour of pig ignorant toe-rags who should have been housed in a barn.

Back to the review, yes, we would stay here again, it is ideally situated near the centre making it easy to get trains or buses to other towns. Plenty of good shopping if the wife is a shop-a-holic like mine. Also try some of the tapas bars, Casa Lopez on Calle Mercedes or Casa Jerez at the top of Calle San Miguel are two crackers, and don't forget to try the Cervezateca (Beer Library) on Calle Mercedes about 100 yards passed the El Pozo Hotel on the right.
Finally, a comment was made in a previous review about this hotel being full of gays. Yes there were some people who were obviously gay but they did not go out of their way to cause problems, so why not live and let live if they are not bothering you.

Room Tip: Rooms above the pool get sun from lunch time till sunset, but also the noise from the pool bar.Rooms...

my mum and i have just returned from a lovely week here and couldnt have asked for more really.very central hotel, just across the road from the lift down t the beach promanade and next to the street full of shops,5mins to the train station/buses.hotel is very modern in decoration, extremly clean.not sure id like it if i went in high season as it might be too noisey but off-peak was fab.the 2 drinks at a time thing on all-inc could be a pain if your with a group of people or you make friends like we did an you to all go up individually.
the food was more than acceptable, you would never go hungry,we did eat out a couple of nights but just for a change of sceanery really
