Although it is off the main square, it is probably the busiest street for shops. Small alleys and bigger streets lead of it including one to the square where there are a lot of eateries and often entertainment.
There are lots of small independent shops and also bigger chains. Loads of food shops, jewellers, and clothes, as well as souvenirs. Walk through before you buy as quite a few shops sell similar things at different prices.

If you're looking for some serious shopping with a coffee, drink or bite of lunch in between, this is the street to go to.
From the promenade, it can be accessed either by the walking route from the Ship Inn or by the municipal lift up the steps from the Inn - 50c charge applies!
The pedestrian street has expensive jewellers, accessory jewellery, shoe and leather shops, Lladro ornaments, artists' materials, pastry shops and tea houses and restaurants. Don't forget the shops in the alleyways which lead off from the main street.
At the crossroads in the centre of the street, there are numerous cafes and restaurants to stop for something. Only issue there is that clients are pestered by vagabonds looking for change who think that they can play a guitar and sing for you, neither of which is within their abilities!
The main square on the town side of the street is presently undergoing serious roadworks, but access is still possible from there. Also, along to the right from the Ship Inn, there is a wheelchair lift which can be called into use to take you up to the lift level.
Well worth a visit for whatever you may be looking for, or just browsing.

We visited here twice as it was so big. Great selection of shops. Very pretty area too, small streets with so many shops and cafes to chose from. A day out enjoyed including our two small children.

A lovely walk up or down the street, lovely traditional tapas bar, very reasonable prices, halfway down, pop in the welcoming church and see the statue of San Miguel, plenty of shops, restaurants and bars, an ice cream parlour with an amazing choice on the corner. Calls San Miguel is a must if you're visiting Torremolinos.
