“Good basic Spanish Hotel”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Just come back from Mediterraneo stayed for 5 nights Good location very clean basic room was on my own but if stayed any longer would have got upgrade as I was in room 212 which had no view whatsoever. Staff were helpful however and sorted a/c out any information I required. I had no british channels on TV which would have been good when chilling out between 6.00pm and 8.00pm before dinner..
However I would recommend the hotel for the price paid and location etc. Room was cleaned daily with clean towels etc would recommend the bakers shop for breakfast just down to the left when leaving the reception area down the street.

Room Tip: choose one with balcony probably seaview

Just back from a week staying at this lovely hotel. Always stayed at El Tiburon but as this is closed managed to get booked into Mediterraneo. Booked a street view and for us this proved a good choice. A sea view would be lovely but we enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the goings on of the street. Good air conditioning and comfy beds. Rooms quite small but adequate for our week's stay. Hotel staff helpful and friendly and we will definitely be back

Friendly, helpful staff.
Couldn't get any closer to the beach.
The hotel sells water & cans of beer cheaper than the local shops.
Free wifi.
I didn't have my hairdryer, so easy borrowed one for free from the hotel.
Quaint, Spanish, small, clean hotel.
Room cleaned daily & towels changed daily.
Wonderful, will definitely return.

Room Tip: Beach view or street view rooms are the best.

As in all the previous reviews, all the comments are correct, to put it into prospective for the price we paid it has to be excellent value for a July stay, staff where very helpfull and had good local knowledge.
Our only negitive was the water noise I belive from other rooms, maybe some insulation needed?

We use to be seasoned regulars at the el tiburon which is round the corner, but it's been recently sold with no signs of it reopened ,so we decided to try our luck at the Mediterraneo, well it was a great decision and definitely will go back.
We were checked in promptly by the young gent at reception who confirmed our names straight away ,no problems or hiccups.
Our room was overlooking the street which was great plus we had a small balcony too, rooms were clean and tidy and were kept spotless by the cleaners, bathroom was clean too with a small bath plus bidet.
In centrum of the hotel on the first floor is the garden area which is shaded, great for an evening read as they have nice rattan furniture for your comfort

We had breakfast served which is served in the cafe next door, choice isn't bad either for the money we paid ,so again can't complain, plus you have the added bonus of street view or beach view

Hotel is virtually on the beach which was handy,ok there's no pool, but the value and location more than compensate for it.
Best of all it had a really good wifi connection which was fast, something the big boy hotels don't feature
If you get a chance to book it,don't hesitate, you won't go wrong,we went in middle of July and there was a local procession during the night round the carrihuela from the beach to the local church, which was done by the locals

My wife to be and I stayed in this hotel for 12 days at the end of June beginning of July. We loved it, the staff were very helpful, the room was clean with air con, towels were changed when you wanted them to be, room had a fridge that's very usefull this time of year. We were on the 3rd floor street side so we had the sun in the evening.

Very good hotel, central to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. Entrance is on the street so make sure you know where you are going if you are dropped oof, there is nowhere to park.
Our room was on the 2nd floor overlooking the street, we had a small balcony which held 2 chairs and a table. On occasions it could could be noisy but not excessively.
We did not opt for Bed and Breakfast but we had a small dated kitchenette with a fridge. Fridge was very efficient and kept everything cold.
The room had an airconditioning unit which I felt was in the wrong place, would have been better for it to be in a central position in the room.
There were plenty of drawers to store your clothes but be warned they are not very ddep. The wardrobe has hangers but it is not very good for hanging long dresses as the shelf and the safe get in the way. The safe is an extra cost but well worth getting.
The room was visited every day, the beds were changed once while we where for 7 days and the towels were changed when you requested.
The reception staff were very helpful and made telephone calls for us when we had problems with our transfer and a card being retained by a machine.
