“What a lovely surprise !”
Reviewed June 16, 2012

After eating in several other restaurants in Torremolinos we tried "La Escalera". It was so much better than everything else! It's a small, elegant place, with a smashing view. They offer excellent food. We took the three course meal for 14 Euros. The quality matched the best European restaurants. Service was impeccable. The recommended Spanish wine was excellent.
We went back for a second evening. This time we had reserved a table at the window - - it was a fantastic evening.
I'd recommend booking a table if you want to be sure to get in.
It's definitely worthwhile !
Note: They're closed on Sundays.

“A hidden gem”
Reviewed June 2, 2012 via mobile

The chances are you will pass this restaurant without noticing it. This would be a mistake.
It is quite small with great views over the sea. The food is excellent.
I started with a prawn cocktail which was very good whilst my wife loved her deep fried wedge of camembert with blackcurrant.
For main I had a rump steak with onions, veg, and "German potatoes" which turned out to be saute potatoes. My only quibble was that my steak was more medium well than medium rare but seeing as most Irish people, my wife included, prefer it cooked to a frazzle, it was a forgivable error. She also had a steak with peppered sauce and a salad and declared it her favourite meal of the holiday.
The highlight of the meal was to follow a superb tarte tatin which I had to wait over 20 minutes for as its cooked from scratch, a real bonus where many restaurants buy their desserts frozen.

“Food with Taste and Diversity”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

After our poor experience at Copacabana, Torremolinos we consulted Trip Advisor and went to La Escalera. The food is excellent here. We had grilled salmon, fresh vegetables, and fresh salad. The food was tasty and fresh. The dessert was to die for. We had a fresh berries and fresh cream. It was delicious. The server was kind and friendly. Our children even commented that the spaghetti bolognese was tasty. The prices for all of the food was fair. We actually paid less and ate better than at Copacabana.

The restaurant is a small quaint one. It is located on a small walking street in the center of Torremolinos. I would recommend you make a reservation if you want to eat here. I can imagine during high season it is booked up.

“Good Food, Good Price, Good Service”

Couldn't really ask for more. The price was more than decent, the food was great and the staff was quite friendly. The view from the windows is very nice as well.
