When travelling to Marbella, Spain we recommend a stay at the Villa Marbella - luxury Bed & Breakfeast.

We arrived as weary visitors from the U.S. , travelling by plane, bus and taxi to this charming old - walled town. Our host, Marcos and his staff, welcomed us with their hospitality. We felt like we had our own personal guide, concierge, and friend in Marbella. Marcos's experience in the industry is evidenced by his daily attentiveness to details of his guests' whims. He took the time at breakfeast on the rooftop each morning to listen to our adventures, plan excursions, arrange money exchanges ( best rates ) and call ahead for dinner reservations. Each restaurant surpassed our expectations.

Music selected by our host was playing softly in the CD player when we arrived to our room. The mood was set for a relaxing and romantic vacation. The room had every amenity, safe box, mini-stocked refrigerator, TV that onewould expect from luxury accomodations. Each room is beautifully decorated with Bali teak and Spanish / Asian decor. The bathroom is modern ! Take a book and enjoy the view of the rooftop!

Following Marcos's recommendations we enjoyed beach days and explored winding streets of Old Marbella and nearby towns. The days and nights were fun-filled ones punctuated by siestas. We easily fell into Spanish routines - forget the time ! We felt like ambassadors because we met mostly Europeans who were surprised that we travelled so far. Apparently they had been vacationing in Marbella for years and staying for at least a month.

If you learn some Spanish phrases you will find your excursions more enjoyable. I can still recall the fragrances as we strolled through Orange Square at nite. Thank you Marcos and Staff for all your hard work and dedication each day at Villa Marbella. We arrived as first time visitors and left feeling as though we had just visited a long time friend. We will be back !

Spent 2 nights in the Boracay Room at La Villa Marbella midweek late January. Fabulous experience. Beautiful little boutique hotel in a great location in the old town of Marbella. Marcos, the owner, is a wonderful attentive host and looks after your every need. Breakfast on the top terrace is a positive delight with a patio heater to keep you warm if necessary. Marcos recommended the walk along the front to Puerto Banus - about 1 and a quarter hours - very enjoyable. The old town of Marbella is very pretty and full of restaurants and tapas bars and again Marcos, or his staff, can recommend where to go.

La Villa Marbella was a truly memorable experience and I would recommend it to anyone seeking stylish accommodation and personal service. It is definitely 'a little gem'. Go ahead and book - it's delightful.

Believe everything you read about this hotel in the lovely old town of Marbella. My wife and I stayed here on the 12th January 2007 as we began a driving holiday in Andalusia. Marcos had responded to an e-mail providing me with precise details as to how to reach the nearest available parking to the hotel. Had we wanted, we could have called the hotel from the car park and would have been quickly assisted to get our baggage to the hotel. As it was, we wheeled our bags through two narrow streets and arrived in the small reception area. Our room was on the ground floor and was named 'Lombok'. The bedroom is compact but is very chic and tastefully decorated in an oriental design. We had a lovely tiled walk-in shower and the little extras were something special. The attention by Marcos and the staff attains the great balance of being attentive but not overbearing. We were invited up onto the roof terrace for a welcoming drink once we'd settled into our room. This is also where guests have their breakfasts, and should it be a little chilly, there are patio heaters available. There are also comfy chairs present on the roof terrace.
Marcos recommended and arranged our evening meal at The Orange Tree Restaurant which proved to serve great food accompanied by excellent service. Upon our departure, we were also provided with detailed directions to our next hotel at Ronda. This was one of our best experiences of a hotel during our years of travel across the world

Charming and quaint and individually stylish are few of the many ways to describe La Villa Marbella. We stayed here for one week in August with our 4 month old baby son and it really wasn't long enough.

I think the many positive reviews already written about this hotel say it all, but all I can say is, you won't be disappointed.

We were a little apprehensive about holidaying with a young baby, given all the extra equipment etc. you need for a young child but forunately Marcus and his team did everything in their power to make our stay relaxing and fun.

Having stayed in other hotel accomodation with our baby since then, I can assure you that not every hotel will be able to give you that one to one service or offer the little extras Marcus did to ensure your holiday is as relaxing as possible. It really felt like you were staying with old friends.

Nothing was too much bother, from providing a travel cot to having use of the kitchen to make bottles. All this really means so much we have found when travelling with a young baby.

Our needs were also not forgotten, making sure breakfast time on the terrace was relaxing and serving right up to 1pm to reserving a table at a fabulous local restaurant.

We stayed in the Banyan Room at the Lodge and the room was fantastic, with more than enough space for the three of us. The Lodge is a minute walk from the Villa on a quaint cobble stoned street alongside the local residents, which really gives you a taste of the Spanish way of life.

We would have no hesitatation in staying here again but would hopefully stay longer next time.

I have stayed at the Villa Marbella twice now and can honestly say that no hotel or guest house, has come close to the level of personal service that Marcos and his staff offer to their guests. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel that little bit special and it´s as if you have known them for years. A special mention should be made to Marcos´s righthand man, Boliva, a most charming and helpful Panamanian gentleman (this word was made for someone like him) it has been my and my girlfriends, pleasure to meet. Nothing is too much bother for him and he is a credit to La Villa Marbella.
Whether you are looking for a long romantic weekend, or just a few days in the sun, you could not find a better place to use as your base, word of warning though, once there, you will find it difficult to leave, trust me, I think they should re-name it "Hotel California"!

I loved everything about La Villa Marbella, but there were a few prime factors that made me decide that it should deserve the full 5 stars. The location of the hotel in the moorish picturesque Old Town was simply charming with its little narrow cobbled streets, squares and corners that had such distinct character. I loved walking by the warm sunny coastline everyday which was just a stone throw away from the hotel. The Old Town certainly did not lack in food department. As a seafood and tapas lover, I sampled some of the best seafood restaurants as directed by the hotel crew, and from experience, the small little busy all-spanish restaurants were the best places to go for authentic foods! The exceptional service by the hotel crew gave my partner and I such a memorable time during our holiday. Attention was paid to every single detail to its very best; the rooms were immaculate, breakfast served every morning was served with such hospitality, the hotel crew made sure all our needs were met, and everyday they tirelessly gave us detailed directions to places of interests, and restaurants we had to try. Marcos and his team goes all out to ensure that you have an enjoyable and unforgettable holiday.
In a nutshell, the immaculate service, perfect location and wonderful hotel will blow you away! We certainly hope to return soon.

My husband and I stayed at La Villa Marbella for 5 nights in December, 2006. There are not enough words that can possibly describe the incredible stay at this beautiful hotel.
When booking our trip, I was sure that all the reviews I read could not possibly have all been accurate - but I was so happy to be proven wrong! The reviews were all accurate - and then some!
Marcos, Bolivar, Ana, and everyone at La Villa Marbella made our stay with them the most perfect vacation we could ever want- we are already planning our next trip back!
Every other hotel in the world could learn a lot from the way that this hotel is run - from the amenities, to the staff, to the location.
Marcos, and his staff all made our vacation the most memorable one we have ever had- and we can not wait to come visit again!
From the personal greeting at the car park, to ALL of the restaurant recommendations, to the breakfast packed up for our very early flight home on the last day - the entire stay was phenomenal!
The entire trip, we were not made to feel like standard "hotel guests", but rather friends of the family..I felt like I was leaving my best friends house at the end of the trip, and even got a little teary eyed when Marcos came down to the restaurant we were eatling at on our last night to say goodbye to us!
I can recommend this hotel with absolutely nothing negative to say at all, and no hesitation in suggesting that anyone stay here when visiting Marbella - it is well worth it!
