“The most fantastic hotel stay ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2006

My husband and I stayed at La Villa Marbella for 5 nights in December, 2006. There are not enough words that can possibly describe the incredible stay at this beautiful hotel.
When booking our trip, I was sure that all the reviews I read could not possibly have all been accurate - but I was so happy to be proven wrong! The reviews were all accurate - and then some!
Marcos, Bolivar, Ana, and everyone at La Villa Marbella made our stay with them the most perfect vacation we could ever want- we are already planning our next trip back!
Every other hotel in the world could learn a lot from the way that this hotel is run - from the amenities, to the staff, to the location.
Marcos, and his staff all made our vacation the most memorable one we have ever had- and we can not wait to come visit again!
From the personal greeting at the car park, to ALL of the restaurant recommendations, to the breakfast packed up for our very early flight home on the last day - the entire stay was phenomenal!
The entire trip, we were not made to feel like standard "hotel guests", but rather friends of the family..I felt like I was leaving my best friends house at the end of the trip, and even got a little teary eyed when Marcos came down to the restaurant we were eatling at on our last night to say goodbye to us!
I can recommend this hotel with absolutely nothing negative to say at all, and no hesitation in suggesting that anyone stay here when visiting Marbella - it is well worth it!

I can only echo what others have said in their posts, this is a great small hotel.Marcus and his staff are amazing, we would not and have not hesitated to recommend this property to friends and family.

It is situated in the old town, about a 10 minute walk from the beach area, there are many fabulous restaurants in the area , just ask one of the staff, they will be happy to set up reservations for you.

To give you an idea of how far the service level extend here are a couple of examples.

On our first night there this is exactly what we did, not being familiar with the area yet we were a little unsure of where the restaurant was located, Bolivar (one of the staff) walked us to the restaurant, please tell me where you would get this kind of service ???

On our last night we were having dinner it was about 8.30pm, Marcos showed up at the restaurant to say good bye to us (he had to take a trip out of town the next morning) this blew us away.

If you are looking for a hotel with all the razzle dazzle then this is not the place for you, if you are looking for a small hotel where you can relax with outstanding service then this IS the place in Marbella.

We are planning our next trip back, heck we started planning it while we were there !

As others have said, if I could give this hotel 6 stars I would.

Thank you again Marcos for the great stay, we look forward to seeing you in 2008

Having stayed in Marbella before we knew we wanted a hotel in the Old Town and what a find La Villa Marbella was.

It is small but beautifully formed and Marcos and his staff are excellent. We stayed in the Boracay room which was just perfect.

We will definitely come back.

After seeing all of the complimentary reviews here, we just had to try La Villa Marbella ourselves.

It was, quite simply, a wonderful location (in the old city), with superb accomodation (including a roof terrace to sit out and enjoy a bottle of wine!), and the perfect host (Marcos).

This is "boutique hotel" at its very best - of course you don't get the "big hotel" facilities - but quite honestly, I dont want (or indeed use) them anyway.

I'd rather have the personal touch that Marcos clearly takes both great pride and pleasure in providing to all of his customers - and he is so knowledgeable.....for example drawing us a detailed map of where to park in Ronda - spot on and we'd never have found it without his help!

We will be going back, and if you want somewhere "different" then stay here.....you won't be disappointed!!

My wife and I are just back from a 5 night stay in La Villa Marbella. I had read most of the positive reviews here on TripAdvisor before booking the hotel and I can only agree with them all.

Marcos and all the staff are really friendly and helpful. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable.

They provided us with some great recommendations of places to visit and places to eat in. We really felt like we were staying with friends. Thanks a lot!!

Rather than just repeat what everyone else has written, which is all true, let me tell you about an incident that sums up the service provided by Marcos and his team.

We were only staying at La Villa Marbella for 2 nights and mainly planned to sample the cusine of the area. We had excellent restaurant recommendations both for Tapas and for evening meals. On our last evening Marcos recommended a super fish restaurant just behind the nearby church. We couldn't book but accepted his recommendation.

As we were reaching the end of our meal the heavens opened and it rained as heavily as I have ever seen. All the customers were being given bin bags to help protect them from the rain. Boli who works with Marcos knew we might be at the restaurant and phoned to see if we were there as he planned to bring us umbrellas. The restaurant unfortunately told Boli we weren't. You would think that would be the end of it but Boli being the intrepid and possibly water resistant type ventured out anyway to bring us umbrellas. That incident sums up the level of service you will enjoy from all at La Villa Marbella, enjoy!

Our party of three couples was pleased to find that the owner Marcos and his staff run La Villa Marbella as a fine boutique hotel. He goes out of his way to talk to guests and to make sure they have an enjoyable stay. We received great advice on restaurants and shops plus help with travel bookings.

While the rooms are not large they nevertheless are very well appointed, including satellite television. We particularly liked the Asian décor of the rooms and the modern bathrooms with large showers. A highlight was the roof top garden bar and breakfast dining area. It made for a great social setting to enjoy a drink while watching the sun set with other guests and talking to Marcos. The rooftop also has a free computer with high speed internet access and there is a wifi network for anyone traveling with a laptop.

  • Liked — Staff and Asian decor
  • Disliked — Bedroom a bit small
  • Tips/Secrets — Marcos is expanding so check his other locations (Granada, Spain)
