Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Beautifully designed rooms, resembling top notch far eastern hotels. Many thoughtful amenities available in the room such as bath robes, hair dryer, even an iron, etc. I went to Marbella after a short but very busy tour of Andalusia, so we were very tired. Although we stayed only for two nights in La Villa Marbella, we really enjoyed it and felt rested and recharged for our trip back home. Marbella itself is a beautiful city. I really enjoyed walking in the narrow streets of Marbella. I would definitely like to visit Marbella again and I would stay in La Villa Marbella again.

We were there in early May, which I understand is just before the big crowds arrive. We stayed in the Java room, which was decorated beautifully and was a very relaxing and peaceful retreat. Everything was very clean. Like others, we felt breakfast on the terrace was a real treat.
The owner and everyone who worked there took great care to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The staff did little things like having a light on in the room, great chocolates on the pillow, and soft music playing when we walked into the room. They made sure we had maps and made great suggestions on where to go and how to get there. They even provided beach towels. This place deserves the number one rating. While there we really enjoyed the Ralli Museum. http://www.rallimuseums.com/Marbella_Home_En To get there, take the bus that goes to Puerto Banus and get off a few stops before, at Coral Beach. From the museum we walked back into town along the wide path along the beach, stopping to swim or have something to eat and drink at one of the many Chiringuitos (small beach restaurants) along the way.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 great nights in the Bangkok room. We absolutely loved the room and the decor. It was a very relaxing place to return to each night. We prefer small boutique hotels and found La Villa Marbella to be one of the nicest of our stay in Spain. The breakfast on the terrace each morning was more than filling and everyone at the hotel was always happy to help with whatever was your question. We got great recommendations for food in town and ended up eating at Altamarano several times and each meal was fantastic. As I stated earlier, the staff was excellent. They helped with phone calls, restaurants and recommendations for day trips, and generally made things better everyday. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it highly!!

We decided to come here to celebrate my mum's 70th birthday. We were originally booked to stay in The Goa room but unfortunately due to roadworks on the road where the Courtyard is, we were offered a free upgrade by the Hotel before we arrived. We stayed in the Mandalay Suite. On arrival we were picked up by a lovely man sent by the Hotel called Marcos. He was such a nice person and even had cooled water waiting for us in the back of the car, which was gratefully received. On arrival the team came out and introduced themselves from the Reception. What a lovely touch ! We were then kindly taken to our room and settled in by Guilherme. The room was lovely - one room had a beautiful 4 poster bed and two lovely long balcony windows overlooking the pretty street below.Relaxing music was playing in the room. We were also given robes and slippers to use during our stay. There is also a kettle and tea and coffee provided and a mini bar. The bathroom has an amazing shower. We unpacked and then went back to Reception where they gave us a detailed map and showed us where to go. They also recommended places to eat. We did eat at their recommendation "The Orange Tree", which was also amazing and they booked the table for us. The little streets and shops are in abundance everywhere and the church by orange square is worth a visit as it is very pretty inside. We also took a horse and carriage ride 20 euros for half an hour which was most enjoyable. We visited Puerto Banus via ferry 8.50 euros one way and we caught the local bus back 1.18 euros. Tip: for the bus back you catch this outside the dept store el courto inglis but you need to go inside the bus station to get the bus - we only just realised when a lady told us and had to run for the bus! Breakfast at the hotel was lovely, you pre-choose on arrival and I would thoroughly recommend the greek yougat with honey and crossiant with ham & cheese. We had ours outside on a pretty terrace at The Loft. Marcos the owner popped in and introduced himself, which I thought was a lovely touch. When we were leaving, without even asking we were given a complimentary room for the day, which was Ankor in the Cottage. This was a small room but ideal for us to change in. It would be adequate for two people though and had all the same facilities as Mandalay just more compact. .We also asked where we could change money and Isabela, a lovely lady took us to the exchange place in person. Unfortunately there was no-one there and he asked us to come back at 2pm. When we returned there was still no one there to change money so we went back to the Hotel. Bolivar was on Reception and was so helpful. He kindly arranged for a person to come out to the Hotel so that we could change money. This only took about 10 minutes. When we were leaving we were picked up from our accommodation and taken by car to the Airport by a lovely gentleman. All in all this Hotel deserves its high rating on Trip Advisor, as I have stayed in many places and have never ever experienced service like this ever. I wish I could give it more stars!Thank you all for making my mum's 70th birthday so memorable. I cant wait to return!

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to be lovely but if you want more space go for a suite or superior room. We staye...

The location in the Old Town just could not be bettered, hidden in a small alley just up the hill from Orange Square.
The staff were superb, helping us to arrange our day trips, recommending things to do and even telephoning our next hotel to make sure of the location and the easiest way to get there.
The breakfast on the rooftop veranda was excellent and it was lovely eating with a beautiful view of the mountains behind Marbella.
The only problem was that the room, although gorgeous was just too small.

Charming hotel with charming personnel
I was delighted to find that all of the reviews were spot on for La Villa Marbella, having been curious about the very high rating for an independent hotel. I'm a Platinum Starwood and Hyatt member, and stay mainly with these brands. Rooms are very tasteful in Thai style, with everything you need, in a lovely part of Old Marbella. Staff cater for every request in a most genuine and pleasant manner. It is like staying with your best friends.
Ben and Juan on the front desk were very helpful with a lost bank card, even before I got to the hotel. Markus and his sister are wonderful hosts. Only point of note, is that, as other reviews, I would like to see a healthier breakfast with more choice.
Overall, a great stay in a great place, and highly recommend.
I will be back soon!.

Room Tip: I stayed in Jaipur and Phuket, both were lovely, albeit Phuket was much quieter.

Great service, nice location. Marbella isn't a large city and while La Villa Marbella is situated a bit away from the the main beach strip it took all of ten minutes to walk there. The team at La Villa was very professional and keen to offer advice and make sure everything was working out. We can echo other reviews here to say that our room was quite small (very little place for baggage) but that it was well furnished and comfortable. Great for couples.

Room Tip: We were in the Datai room. The little fountain outside kept going around the clock was a little nois...
