“Old charm and comfortable”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

I loved this place! Bolly and Ben at the front desk were informative and helpful. My friend left some clothes in the room and our maid ran down the street after us. What a sweetheart. It has beautiful open rooms overlooking a charming street. The narrow winding streets have some great little boutiques and shops. Hang out in Orange Square under the orange trees for cafe or wine. We only stayed one night! Next time longer. You can walk to the beach which has a lot going on. Only complaint is that you should know you cannot drive up to the door. Make sure you know how to find this gem in the old town before you arrive. A GPS was not helpful.

This hotel is fabulous. For those who don't know, it consists of apartments over several small buildings in the heart of the old city. We stayed at the Sarawak apartment and it was a dream. Well decorated in an asian theme, it had free wifi, more channels on tv than I've ever seen in a hotel, full kitchen, and it was a lot bigger than we expected. The only thing I have to say is the matress in the downstairs bedroom was not very confortable, but both upstairs bedrooms were great. There were only 3 of us so it was not a problem. Breakfast was very good, you fill out a form when you arrive to pick out what you want, my choice was cereal and milk, yoghurt, a croissant, donut and orange juice, and it was perfect. It's a block away from more restaurants than you can count, yet it was pretty quiet. Everyone I met was extremely friendly and spoke great english.
I can't recommend this enough.

The Villa is great for a couple looking for peace and quiet, and away from the noise and hustle associated with normal large Spanish hotels. The rooms are not massive, but are well decorated and appointed, with good design features. But why would you want a large room, when there are lots of great bars and restaurants around the corner, to party in or to chill out. Cars are largely banned from the surrounding streets, which is great, and I do not count a 5-10 minute walk from the parking a long way to be in the middle of a beautiful old town.
This is a simple, pretty and well run establishment, and we will be back. If you want the glitz of Puerto Banus, or fully appointed hotel, with huge reception and large car park, this is not for you, but if you want something a bit different, for a short stay, try it.

This is what an ideal boutique hotel, without the correspnding prices ! Even before our trip, Juan provided us with all the transport info needed to get from Malaga airport to La Villa Marbella.

They have about 29 rooms scattered around several properties along the streets of the Old Town in Marbella. Each has about 3 to 5 rooms, and ours in Loft 15 had a lounge and an open courtyard, where breakfast was served. Each room is unique, with different layouts, design and furnishings. Marco (the owner) had worked in the Far East for many years, and this influence is reflected in the decorations in the rooms as well as the room names (no numbers here!)

Our room was a good combination of both eclectic and modern - Balinese-style sideboard and bedside tables added to the decor of the room, at the same time, large and clean cupboards provided plenty of storage and also held the in-room safe.

Their service and advice was faultless ! As the hotel is off the main street with no vehicle access, the closet the taxi could drive up to was about 50 m from the hotel on Calle Ancha at the west end of Calle Principe. But the hotel staff were waiting there to help us with our bags, even though they only knew our approximate time of arrival at Malaga airport.

Marco's advice at breakfast each day was fantastic; what to do, where to go etc. The restaurants he recommended had great food and were not the touristy-type immediately surrounding Orange Square. Breakfast was selected from a check-list the night before, and prepared hot only when you come down to the courtyard.

No wonder it is #1, no other place to stay in Marbella !

We recently visited LVM for 5 days, enjoyed so much, great location, walking distance to beach, old town, new town, fruit market, bakery. Breakfast each morning served on roof top terrace was hot croissants, fresh fruit, coffee and serviced with a smile. 5 plus on service from Ben, Juan, and Marcus, gave great suggestions on activities, places to visit in Spain. Marcus arranged a great tour for us to Gilbalter with a tour guide, shout out to Paul DelMar was very informative and so enthusastic,so much fun to see the monkeys. Highly recommend this hotel, you will not be disappointed, top notch service.

Room Tip: Java Room, comfortable ground floor

This place is sweet. The location is perfect, scattered amongst the old town in nicely refurbished cottages. Your neighbors will be the normal town folk, but your cottage will be set off with beautiful flowering bougainvillea crawling up the walls. There's free breakfast included, which you eat poolside in one of the buildings, none of which are more than 4 minutes walk from each other.

The beach is about a 10 minute walk. Great food and sights are less than that. Parking is in the public parking garage a few minutes walk away from the main office, 12 euro/day.

The rooms are very cool. We had the Langkawi room. It is kind of modern rustic, with a balcony overlooking the (mostly quiet, mostly non-motorized) street.

The real story here is the friendly service. The owner and all of the employees are just beyond accommodating. They're jovial and informative. They'll go out of there way to make you feel welcome. The owner personally greets all the guests either at the office or during breakfast and offers advice on things to see or places to eat. He even helped us plan our trip to Gibraltar, with a map and funny descriptions. And everyone speaks perfect English (arguably better than my own, if I'm honest) so worry not if you're high-school Spanish from 15 years ago just isn't cutting it (remember "gracias" is prounounced grathias (kind of swallow the 's' to the point where you almost don't say it) here, and "vale" (vah-lay) means "okay")

Overall, just awesome. Stop looking around and just book this place.

Room Tip: Langkawi room was awesome.

We booked La Villa Marbella for our honeymoon, both I and my wife were really impressed with the hotel. It is located in the old town of Marbella, only a short walk from several bistros and the beach.

The hotel bettered any expectations I had for it (which were high anyway after reading Trip Advisor reviews). We stayed in a beautiful room in the Design house. Each morning we enjoyed a great breakfast (fresh pasteries/bread every day!), from a good breakfast choice,on the hotel's terrace (with spectacular views).

The staff were the most friendliest I've ever met in a hotel and even got us some flowers/wine for our honeymoon, they truly made our honeymoon really special.

If you are planning to stay in Marbella and want somewhere that will give your holiday/break that something magical, then La Villa Marbella is the hotel for you.
