La Villa Marbella
Ranked #2 of 69 Hotels in Marbella
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 21, 2012

We stayed in La Villa Marbella mainly because of its Trip Advisor rating at number one in Andalucia. It was an enjoyable experience, although I don't quite understand the superlative assessment. The hotel consists of a number of separate town houses converted to bedrooms, all within a short radius of the original establishment which houses the reception. Juan was extremely friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable, really professional. The room we stayed in (Sherating) was very comfortable and well appointed, with 2 TVs, CD player/radio and terrace jacuzzi. It was most tastefully decorated with a far Eastern theme. The hotel didn't appear to have any common areas such as bar, lounge, restaurant etc and one would presumably spend most of the day out in the town. Breakfast was perfectly adequate without being remarkable and was served in one of the converted buildings about 100 metres from our house. The hotel does not provide any other meals, although there are plenty of excellent restaurants and tapas bars close by.

Ther is no vehicle access to the hotel but it is situated a short stroll – perhaps 250 metres - from a public car park and the sea is another fairly short walk away from the hotel. The beach is very disappointing but maybe we're a bit spoiled, having visited Galicia earlier this year. By far the best feature of the hotel is its location within the old town of Marbella which is really charming and well worth a visit.

This is not a destination hotel per se but if you want to visit the old town of Marbella, then it is a very good place to stop over.

this 'hotel' is actually Made up of several buildings separated. the location is problematic for people who comes with a car.the adress is not reachable with GPS and after long trip back way and circles we called the hotel.they lead us to a new adress og a parking lot (not free) and ptovide us the info hows to arrive. it was not near to the hotel and our luck was that we decided to take only 2 trollies. the room we got was so small but Our consolation was that there was the potential to be a romantic place. at the end i can say the area is mid of the old town and it was nice. i think it was better to go to puerto banus and come to this area to visit the day, which is neautifull town.

As soon as we arrived Marcos and Benjamin made us feel like we were part of thier family. We freshened up a bit in the wonderful room and then took a bottle of wine to the rooftop terrace for a little down time to catch our breath. The terrace was exceptionally well designed and decorated and the surrounding views from the terrace gave us a glimpse into the local neighborhood. Marcos then gave us helpful information about interesting sights and activities around Marbella. The service was way beyond any other hotel that we stayed at during our vacation. This hotel is a rock solid choice that gives it all to you - service, ambience and value.

Room Tip: Because this is a top rated choice you might want to book early to make sure you can get a room here...

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in October. Located in the old town, 10 mins walk from beach and about 3 minutes from Orange Square. The rooms are in several different buildings all located close to each other, our room ‘The Palawan’ was lovely and a good size, well cleaned on a daily basis. The only issue we had with our room was the wi-fi, the signal being very erratic. The breakfast we thought was nice and fresh but could have been better organised, we were given a form with a menu to fill in on the first day for the following morning, we assumed we would have to fill this in on a daily basis, but this wasn’t the case, however we could make changes as we went through the week, on our last day as we were finishing our breakfast we over heard somebody asking for a boiled egg which wasn’t on the menu and they were told yes that’s not a problem, which is great, but we wish we had known this at the beginning of our stay as eggs was the one thing we thought the breakfast menu needed.
The staff were lovely and friendly and very informative of the local area, we visited Ronda for the day and a member of staff provided us with a map and times of the local buses, he took time with us to recommended a walk to do when we got there and also marked it on the map which we found really helpful as we might of found ourselves wandering about aimlessly.
Having said all that we would definitely stay here again and have no hesitation in marking this hotel 5 stars.

I have never placed a review on here before, but I would do the hotel, Marcos and the staff a real disservice if I did not tell everyone what a wonderful experience it was.

If you are in any doubt as to whether to book this hotel I would recommend you to delay no more and book it now. You will not regret it. The hotel is advertised as a 3* but it is so much more that a 3*. We have stayed in 5* hotels that weren't as nice. We stayed in the Cherating room and everthing we could possibly have wanted was there for us, tea making facilities, free safety deposit box, iron, beach towels and even travel plugs

The location was very central and nothing was too much trouble for the team at the hotel

I will definatley be visting again very soon

We booked a room at La Villa Marbella and had a pleasant stay. Our room was located in The Cottage ( a separate house from the main building). It was clean and comfortable.
The staff is very friendly. We checked out at midday and went to the beach in the afternoon because we had a late flight. We left our bags with reception and when we got back to the hotel we were able to use a room to take a shower and get changed before going to the airport.

We've just come back today fom a 6 day stay at the Villa Marbella and memories of a wonderful visit are still flooding through our minds. Many hotels preach about the importance of a great customer experience, the team at Villa Marbella live it every moment of the day. From the greeting you receive when you arrive at the door to the moment you leave, nothing is left to chance, every request is greeted positively and with a genuine smile. The attention to detail is stunning, both in the surroundings and the service. There is something about the culture they have created in Villa Marbella which is a shining example to hotels costing 3 times as much on the pretentious Golden Mile. You get a real feel for Marbella Old Town, fantastic restaurants are just 5 minutes stroll away (you must try the Mariscal). Altogether a truly unfortgettable experience!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Boracay, four poster bed, stone walls, beautiful bathroom, balcony. Bit noisy at...
