“Highly Recommended”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

As a regular visitor to Hong Kong, I was dubious that a Chinese cuisine Department store Spanish restaurant could live up to my expectations but I was totally wrong.
In all honesty I can not fault this place which for me is very unusual.
The styling is contemporary far eastern with very comfortable booths. The service was top notch and our waitress was actually from the far east and could discuss the food well.
Food quality was good with all 4 of us giving it a resounding thumbs up.
Try it, you will not be disappointed, it all came as a very pleasant surprise!

“Tse Yang Dimsun Club at El Corte Ingles Puerto Banus April 2013”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

Until now I have never been a great fan of Dimsun, maybe because on the several times that I have tried them, there was little individuality in flavours’ and textures that made them, to my pallet, very ‘Samie’, and, there are many more alternative Asian cuisines that I find more tasty and interesting, Japanese, Thai & Chinese (Szechuan and Cantonese), in that order of personal preference.
That was then – This is now
Some friend said “lets meet for lunch at the Dimsum in El Corte Ingles”. Thus started a revelation of what the tastes, textures, colours and aromas of Dimsun should be like.
Gone were my expectations of the steamed ‘dumpling’ snacks that I had eaten hitherto.

But to start from the beginning – The menu is divided into about 30 Dimsun delicacies, most of
which are served in portions of three, in the traditional bamboo steaming baskets.
The fillings range from King prawn, Duck, Scallop, Crab, Pork Chicken, Mushrooms, Asparagus Foie gras combined with a vegetable and an appropriate sauce. Alternatively, there are some conventional Chinese starters such as Spring Roll, Hot & Sour and Wonton soups, and salads.
In the well ordered mains menu is everything that you would expect to find in Chinese cuisine, and more!
Each dish is pictured, and well described as to its preparation, cooking, accompaniments, and is labeled as to it spiciness. Duck, Chicken, Pork Beef, Sea bass Monkfish, king prawn, Scallops each have several variations to choose from, with lots of Rice, Noodles and veggie dishes to compliment them. However, when served, warm plates would have been a plus
Six desserts including Banana fritters with sesame and a chocolate and banana roll look very tempting. Lastly an Adequate wine list from which we chose the Menade Sauvignon that certainly complimented our meal.

The very pleasant and comfortable dining room seats about 70 and the attentive staff is headed
up by English speaking Amar. They are open from 12:30 to last orders at 21:00 Monday to Saturday, but in July and August they also open on Sunday

You can find the Dimsun Club as a concession, within the main restaurant, on the second floor of
El Corte Ingles in Purto Banus Phone 951319553
To look at the menu, go to their web site www.cafesaigon.es – Tse Yang Dimsun club - Letter
Average 3 course with wine 30€ and there is a 7 course tasting menu 28€
All the prices in the menu are ex IVA (10%) Although tipping in El Corte is not allowed, In the concession, which is separate, gratuities at your discretion, are.

“Incredible food, awful service”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

There are no good Chinese restaurants in Marbella except this one. And this isn't just good, the food is delicious! The problem in the service. We were left waiting for 20 minutes to order then 40 minutes for the starters to arrive. Plus, the firecracker noodles we asked to come for the main came at the start. We also got one dim sum which was wrong and an additional one we didn't ask for and were not charged for. The taste though is incredible!!! Honestly, I've never had better dim sum anywhere. So moist, tender and bursting with flavour. Delicious!

The main of yellow chicken curry was absolutely delicious, probably the best Chinese curry ever and an enormous portion for €9.50.

The dim sum selection is overwhelming, pages and pages of delicious treats from €3.50 to €6.50 for incredible treats like scallop & prawn or prawn & crab.

The wine selection is great too. We had a Cloudy Bay for a reasonable €30.

The decor is lovely too, it's just such a shame about the shambolic service.

I'll certainly go again though, just a shame it's tucked away in El Corte Ingles rather than front-line Port.

“Best Chinese in the area”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

Many thanks to BennyMalaga for his review. We went to eat here as a result. We were not disappointed. An atmosphere of calm greeted us and the staff were excellent and professional throughout. The Dim Sum are delicious with such delicate flavours. We also ate more usual Chinese dishes and they were of a very high quality and full of flavours too. We will be back to this great little restaurant.

“Tse Yang Dimsum Club”

I agree! excellent food freshly cooked and not a hint of MSG. Nice atmosphere and surroundings. Never very busy as the Spanish don't seem to know what Dimsum is! Quite expensive but worth it.
