“Excellent food and excellent service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

We have been at Paco Jimenez in April 2013 with my family and all of us was just impressed. The service and the food was fantastic. And the restaurant is very cosy. We had a nice table in front of the windows and had a nice view. Just don`t forget to book a table! Excellent!

“A True Talent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2013

We had experienced a taste of Paco's capabilities at his previous restaurant at the El Soto urbanisation and golf clubhouse near La Mareina in the hills above Elviria, where his talents were restricted by many of the renters and families who understandably wanted cheapish standard fare and not fine dining. So, after several years, and amidst some unpleasantness, he and his wife Nancy left, and as we now see they are reincarnated in their superb, atmospheric, pretty little restaurant in Orange Square -- just 20 or so covers on the first floor in reputedly the oldest building in the Square, plus two tables for two on a small balcony. It is a true family affair, with Paco in the kitchen, his brother as waiter, wife Nancy running the front, and delightful daughter Angela as waitress. We went twice during our Easter break, a lunch and a dinner, and to say that Paco has blossomed is an understatement! His fairly small menu is a mixture of classical Spanish and international specialities, all cooked with passion and presented with great flair. In the past Paco has won numerous gastronomic competitions and prizes, many in South America, and some of his trophies and photos are on display -- and he is certainly living up to his earlier reputation. When I looked on TripAdvisor at Easter I noted the restaurant was rated about 6 out of over 700 in Marbella, and now I've got round to writing a review I see it has leaped to No. 2, just above our favourite (maybe not now?!), the superb Messina. So, Paco's is just brilliant -- you must go! And incidentally, the value is excellent, pretty much the same as most of the restaurants below which, although several of them are good, are just not in the same class. And a final note, at the lunch, a family affair with our daughter and our 2 grandsons of 14 and nearly 3 years old, the little one was looked after superbly: Paco cooked him his own delicious little meal which was, of course, a million miles away from the stuff on the usual kiddies menus. There were a couple of other children, and they were all clearly welcome, as is the case in most genuine Spanish restaurants.

“Saved the best for last!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

If you don't pay close attention while in Orange Square, this place can be easy to miss. Tucked in the corner up on the second floor is a wonderful dining experience. We had our hotel try and make us reservations on Thursday but they were booked but we were able to get a reservation for Friday. We were greeted by a delightful woman who I am sorry to say I never caught her name and seated promptly. The Gentleman aided in us selecting a bottle of wine and it was an excellent choice. From the Tomato Soup(YUM) to our entrees of Rack of Lamb and Scallops everything was presented so well and tasted even better!! The attention to detail was amazing and we were both very impressed and would highly recomment. I must add that as Americans we often order dessert to take hime and finish later. I guess this is not a common thing as we had some communication issued on what we asked and when she understood what we are saing she said sure!! She must have spent alot of time putting togethet this elaborate to go box wrapped in tin foil and with large sprigs of rosemary sticking thru the top. When we got bakc to the hotel and opened it up we realized they had given us one of the bowls they used to take our desert home!! we were at once impressed and embarrassed at the same time. What a nice gesture!!! Bowl will be in the mail!! Thanks for a wonderful meal and experience!

“Superb Restaurant in the heart of Marbella Old Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

The reviews were absolutely correct. We had a wonderful dinner with excellent service. We had three courses, Iberico ham, which was the best I've had for some time, Quail breasts with el dente vegetables, quite superb and to finish a special fruit sald which was presented with much care and had a lovely blend of flavours. The dining room was well laid out and the ambience perfect.

There are two balcony tables, which if you like looking out over the Orange square, book early.
