Having seen all the reviews we just had to try here and what a fantastic meal we had!
The place is tiny, maybe 10 tables inside and 5 outside and you should book really as several couples were turned away when we were there, only to book for another day.
The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful indeed; they couldn't have been better, topping the wine up and making sure everything was perfect.
The food was amazing, all local, fresh produce which changes often and is tailored to the seasons. Please look at the pictures to get an idea of the quality.
We were given a slate with not 1 but 2 amuse bouches! The warm tomato soup shot was wonderful, I could have eaten a big bowl of it: it was lobster bisque-like, delicious. There was also a cured pork crostini, very nice too.
The starters were lovely. My prawn and vegetable pasta was perfectly cooked and the fish sauce delicious. Only 5 of them, which was a bit of a shame, could have done with 7. The tuna tartar was magnificent!!! If you like sushi you will love this and a very good portion indeed. I will have that next time, definitely. So juicy and full of flavour.
Then we were given a very fresh lemon and passion fruit shot to cleanse the palate. I don't like passion fruit, but this was delicious with just the slightest hint of it.
The mains were also very good. We both opted for fish and they were completely different tastes. The cod was a small but perfectly cooked fillet served with a little mash and lovely sauce. My turbot was delicious and really well cooked. There was a lot of skin on there too, which was tasty but a little naughty and if I'm being pedantic, a tiny bit salty, but very nice and I'd have it again.
The dessert was lovely, we both had the chocolate tart and it was soft and very tasty. I didn't like the raspberry coulis myself, but the tart itself was lovely.
At the end of the meal they brought us a glass of cava on the house too! It happened to be our aniversary, but I didn't mention it to them and we still got a glass, maybe everyone who orders 3 courses gets one. I didn't ask, but it was a lovely gesture.
The wine list is very good for red, but only 4 whites to choose from. The verdejo at €17 a bottle is delicious, so much so we had 2!
The whole meal was €110 and worth every penny. I look forward to my next visit and trying something else.
