“We liked it but”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

First the apartment was huge! It has a whole wee kitchen, the sofa pulls out, two decent sized beds. An oven, microwave, fridge etc. There is a high walled bit out the back and outside your room a patio (only down side there is no furniture out there but you could move the wee table and chairs from the kitchen if inclined. We arrived very late at night and were given bottles of water and a wee picnic each (I love this kind of personal touch and the nightstaff lady was very friendly).

The not so great, there is one bar for the whole complex and whilst it wasn't high season when we went it still got a wee bit busy and we had to wait for a drink which is fine but at peak season this would be a nightmare. There were ants in the bathroom but apart from one or two they mostly stayed there and we weren't bothered by them much (think a lot of places in Spain have this issue). It took an hour and 40 minutes to get there so it is way out of the way but there is a bus stop at the bottom of the road, our main issue was the activities and most of the information was in many languages but English.

The entertainment we missed as we went over the bridge to the wee pubs over there for cocktails (our all inclusive only included 3 cocktails none of which I drank and starts 11am to 11pm).

There was always a sun lounger available although not sure how this would be at peak season but we had no issue. There was a 24 hour supermarket a 3 minute walk from us (fairly basic stuff) and a handful of wee bars.

Verdict? Great for a total chill out, go when it is off season and if you like it quiet. The drink and food was ok but I wouldn't say 4 star quality, although you would be fine with self catering as all the facilites are there. We went for a quiet girly few nights of relaxation and sun and that is what we got. If I went again I would self cater but the apartments were huge and stunning so all in all we enjoyed it.

P.s the air conditioning was really loud and in the nights we stayed we didn't have our room cleaned but we were fine with that as it was only a few nights.

the worst experience i have ever had, the hotel used to be beautiful but i do not no what has happened, it is not the same Reserva :( what a shame.the pool area is shoddy, loose tiles, grills that are broken which you get your flip flops caught in and then trip up, Stairs to the pool which fall off when to guys are just fooling around, god help the poor person who is 45 kg and trying to get out and they collapse. 20 minute wait time at least for an all inclusive drink cos only 1 bar staff on to serve the hundreds of people who are there. Flys are a problem because the bins are only cleaned out once per day, and as for pool safety the lifegaurd spends all day looking at his MOBILE, and the food this year was disgusting, pigs cheeks, bulls tails, should i add more, but on the whole would go back to the area just not that hotel.

Room Tip: go to another hotel that is my tip

We stayed here for a week, self catering and we enjoyed it. The duplex houses are by no means the most luxurious accommodation of this type we have ever stayed in. Probably this was one of the least to be honest. Nevertheless we had a great week and would return if one of our preferred condo locations wasnt available. We like this area of the Costa del Sol. You absolutely have to have a car unless you are going to be happy to stay in the resort every day and night and eat in their restaurant. There are a couple of places within walking distance but in all honesty, the car is the making of it. It is about 10 miles out of Marbella. They run a shuttle bus and there is a bus stop right outside. I think a lot of the anti comments about the place are mainly as a result of the writers not researching the hotel well before they came.
The good things:
The swimming pools are huge and very nice. Excellent temperature.
There are plenty of sun beds
There is an indoor pool if you want it, the gym is ok
You can self cater in the condos
Its hellishly cheap.
Its quiet and peaceful - no rowdiness
We had a full kitchenette - fridge, oven, hob, microwave and crockery. Great for eating in.
It was clean.

What could be improved:
The condos have two large terraces but ours had no patio furniture at all. You couldnt really use them.
The air conditioning in the bedroom was extremely noisy.

We swapped one of our timeshare weeks to come here and as I say, it was nothing like the standard of others we have stayed at in the area. Nonetheless, its ok. Dont expect the Ritz. You are not paying for the Ritz. Be realistic. Do a bit of research and you won't be disappointed.

I have recently returned from a 5 night break with the family. I am normally the one in the group that sources the holiday but it was my parents who booked this holiday. I feel i have good experience in staying at all inclusives over the past few years. If you get a good deal then i suppose its ok for the money but we paid (£480 each - last minute) and i feel for that price you can get better value elsewhere. The food was so so but not much choice, there is only 1 bar & can get very busy at peak times. The pool area is Not big enough for the no of residents. The reception area is really nice but the rest of the hotel is quite tired. Saying the gym is basic is being generous and the evening entertainment was poor. Ending on a positive note the hotel is clean & all the staff were attentive & pleasant.

just back, my honest opinion I was annoyed all inclusive stops at midday, day of departure.and if you have a late flight u lose out,, we arrived late 10pm. And bar closes as 11, of day one, so you would think the last day of ur stay, all inclusive, would still be part of package, felt cheated we had to pay after.lunch for our drinks, until we left for a 22,00,hrs flight, with no teatime meal either, new experience to be honest, all inclusive, usually means you have all food and drinks,paid...my only other gripe was the damp smell in the room due to dripping shower .however, decor was lovely, in room 6401, I however would stay here again,, total relaxation, great for lazy days..

Me and my partner stayed here in mid June.
We had a fantastic time here (especially as the weather was briliant).

As with any hotel/resort, we had a few different issues - but, i've honestly never stayed anywhere that was perfect.
Having read the reviews on here before we went - we were prettied worried whether we were actually going to enjoy ourselves.
However, I have to say; the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. The appartments were lovely. The location was fine (for what you're paying for). And the resort provided everything that we wanted.
There was also plenty within walking distance; there was a supermarket 2 minutes walk around the corner, a chinese restaraunt (Hong Kong) also 2 minutes walk away - lovely staff here and gorgeous food, as well as a cashpoint next door to this (which unfortunately stopped working on our last few days of stay), and a fantastic restaraunt over the motorway called "The Village Inn". Good food, even BBQ'd infront of you - great staff, told us a lot about the area!
The beach was within walking distance - about 30 minutes, however - we chose the wrong day to walk as it was about 40degrees ... we were melted by the time we got there - and the sand was too hot to bare - so stayed for 30 mins and walked all the way back.
The appartment was perfect - upstairs was open plan living, dining and kitchen as well as a bathroom- good size and everything you needed with a lovely sun catching balcony. Downstairs was another bathroom and a bedroom - again good sized - with a closed in balcony.
We couldn't get our air con to work, it was noisy...but not cold. Spoke to reception about this, they didn't really mind .. and no one offered to come and help.
One of the receptionists was blunt, unhelpful and rude - so we always made sure we spoke to the other one - she was great - helpful and spoke good English.
The pools were great - one for the kids and one for the adults. Relaxing by the pool was usually nice - apart from when the Spannish kids finished school - and went a bit wild soaking everyone. But, there was a lovely massuse around the pool - who asked them to calm down.
We went on a day trip to Gibralta - to see Dolphins - a trip advised by the resort. We saw no dolphins. Wouldn't advise it.
The maids didn't clean the appartment everyday, which was a shame :/ They also didn't clean any of our cups - which we couldn't do as there wasn't any cleaning equipment. However, we were just swilling the cups out - as they were mainly being used for water. The maid also took money one day from the appartment, all be it it was only a few euros in change, but it was still under a few things hidden on the table - so it would be hard to mistake it for a tip. Try and keep your money hidden better than we did !
We were next door to some noisy people - who argued a lot - we were awoken by this quite often, as the bedrooms all backed onto eachother. The rooms are quite loud from noise around, but this again is something that's hard to avoid.
We were self cattering - and decided to try the buffet one day. However, changed our minds when we walked in - food looked terrible. Had breakfast one day, was okay ... not again though.

Taxis were expensive - 30euros to Puerto Banus, 25euros to Fuengerola. Buses were good though! We found it was cheaper to catch a bus to Marbella, and then a taxi to Banus.

Overall, was a fantastic holiday!
Like i said, a few dissapointments, but not every holiday is perfect!!
Would love to go back again :)
