“Great hotel in great location”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

I was pleasantly surprised on arrival at the hotel and even more pleasantly surprised at the size of the apartment and facilities included. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which also had 2 bathrooms, a huge balcony and in the kitchen, a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, oven, hob and toaster and all cutlery, crockery, pots, pans etc needed. The apartment was cleaned every day. It's in a great location with beach a couple of minutes walk and also supermarkets close by and a short walk to old town or Marbella town centre. I have no idea what some of the previous reviewers of this hotel want - I've been to many with the family and never before been so comfortable in such huge apartment within a hotel. The decor may not be to everyone's taste but if you're only staying a week or two, who cares?

The outside pool was new with more space for sun loungers and it looked like some trees had been taken away to allow more sunlight and it was all newly paved and very clean. We got the sun at the pool pretty much all day although it wasn't busy so space might be more of an issue in summertime when busy but which hotel pool isn't busy in summer?

All in all, I found this hotel to be very good and after reading previous reviews was pleasantly surprised. The staff weren't as bad as made out to be and were helpful with any queries I had. I will definitely be going back.

Room Tip: The 2 bed apartments have huge balconies and are very roomy - a pool view would give sunlight most o...

the hotel is located in a very nice area, it is ten minute walk to the beach, However the flip side is that the building is quite old and the room can not keep up the standards or compete with other luxury hotels. very small indoor swimming pool. old furniture and design, but it is ideal for family as you get a one bed room apartment instead of a room .

Second visit to the hotel, the staff at reception could do with a weeks course on how to be polite , helpful and friendly! If you are going out at night take you room key unless you want the third degree interrogation when you return! We asked to borrow an umbrella one day so we could walk into town and we were rather abruptly told there were shops in the old town some 20 minutes away that sold umbrellas! not what I would have expected as its was raining quite hard.

Breakfast the biggest problem, an optional cost over and above the room rate. Cold fried eggs left on a so called hot plate, insipid looking bacon, hard pastries, watered down fruit juices out of a machine. Tea & coffee OK, bread for toast OK. Jams etc tasteless and watery. As you can imagine very few guests took the breakfast option. Maybe that's what the management want so they can do away with it altogether!

Hotel has a good location 5 mins to the beach, two pools, the outside one was being refurbished but will be ready for spring/summer. We would definitely stay there again and probably eat breakfast out as there are plenty of coffee shops, cafes and bars locally.

Room Tip: Have only stayed at the front of the hotel, rooms face east, so more sun at the back where rooms ove...

What should have been a well earned break turned out to be far from it.On arrival we were very disappointed especially with our room.Upholstery was torn and did not fit well.Sofabed very umcomfortable, just a small 2 ringed hob & an uncontrollable oven to prepare our meals.Balcony was dirty with a rusty clothes drier & noisy aircon unit, overall the place needs a complete makeover. We definitely will not be going back.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will return without a doubt. The staff are friendly the rooms are clean and it's a brilliant location for a base to see what Marbella has to offer. The rooms are spacious but a little tired. 3 minute walk to the beach. 15 min walk to the old town with all its lovely restaurants and little boutiques.

The rooms are very spacious, and kept clean, but the decor doesn't look like it's changed from the 70's, apart from the big LCD television. The male receptionist was really off hand on arrival. He offered no information on the hotel except our room number. There is free wi-fi in the reception area which I knew from reading reviews. A girl on reception later was much more helpful.
The buffet breakfast is average, but there are plenty of pastries and some fruit if you can't manage the rubbery bacon and eggs. The breakfast opened at 8.30am, which coincided with our airport transfer time. We asked if that meant we'd miss breakfast the answer was "Yes!".
